It doesn’t get much worse in sports than what the San Antonio Spurs experienced during the second half of Game 4 against the New York Knicks when they choked away the largest lead in NBA Finals history.

If they’d been able to hold onto their 29-point edge, the series would have gone back to Texas for Game 5 tied 2-2. Instead, the Knicks have a chance to close out the 2026 NBA Finals on Saturday night. Will the Knicks win and end this series early? Or can the Spurs extend it to a Game 6 back at MSG?

More importantly: which players are going to step up for each team on Saturday night at the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio? Read on for our top three player prop best bets as well as betting odds from the top sportsbooks in Ontario!

Highlights

Knicks vs. Spurs Game 5 - Player Prop Best Bets

Victor Wembanyama went just 3-for-11 in the second half of that historic choke job he led in Game 4. That included a fruitless trip to the charity stripe in crunch time where he missed both free throws. If we know anything about great players–and Wemby surely is a great player, despite all the boneheaded plays he’s made during these playoffs–it’s that they bounce back early and big.

We’ve already seen it from him a few times during these 2026 playoffs. The Spurs lost eight games during this postseason run prior to Game 4. In the game following those defeats, Wembanyama scored 27, 19, 27, 26, 33, 28, and 32 points for an average of 27.6. Last time the Spurs were in a must-win game in Game 3, Wemby popped off for 32. We like him to do the same at home here in Game 5, so we’ll take the over on his points prop on Saturday night.

He’ll clearly need some help, however. And he’s going to get it from one of the guys that went ghost during Game 4: Julian Champagnie. He was 1-for-7 from three-point land in Game 4, and if you watched the game, you know that he missed some absolutely wide open looks that he normally puts in.

As the pundits love to say, role players play better when you’re at home. And Champagnie fits that to a tee. He’s shot a scorching hot 44.1 percent from beyond the arc in home games during the postseason; when he’s on the road, he’s shooting a still respectable but noticeably lower 35.9 from long range.

In the last 18 games, Champagnie has hit 3+ triples in half. However, he has been going on and off when it comes to trends, so we like him to bounce back and hit the over on his 2.5 three-pointers made prop in Game 5 after stinking up the place in Game 4.

On the Knicks side, those who have been reading our previews throughout this series can guess what we’re going with: OG Anunoby. He had the game of his life in Game 4, putting in 33 points including six triples and the game-winning tip-in. He has scored not just 15, but 17+ points in 13 of his 16 playoff appearances, including the last six in a row.

His odds have changed accordingly, but as long as his odds to score 15 points remain under -300, we’re going to recommend it. It might not be a great prop on the face of it, but if you want a sure thing to put a few units on or another leg for a parlay, this prop is the one.
