FC Barcelona vs Valencia Odds

Soccer betting sportsbooks have Barca as a major -350 favorite for this matchday four clash. Valencia returns as a +850 underdog, which gives them a mere 10.53% win probability.

Barcelona has four consecutive victories against Valencia, and the last two were absolute blowouts. They beat them 5-0 in the Copa del Rey quarterfinals and 7-1 in LaLiga action. The odds line up with the recent history.

FC Barcelona vs Valencia Analysis

There’s a target on Barcelona’s back after winning the title last term, and they’ve done a relatively good job so far as they look to defend it. Hansi Flick’s men have grabbed two wins and a draw, putting them in fifth place as we speak. But dropping points on Sunday would hurt, considering Real Madrid is off to a perfect 4-0-0, sitting at the top of the table. Lamine Yamal has been the star of the show for the reigning champions, leading the line with two goals and two assists. With each passing year, the phenom continues to get better.

However, Yamal just suffered a groin injury on international duty with Spain, which means the Catalans will be without their main man on Sunday, and potentially this week when they lock horns with Newcastle on Champions League matchday one. Flick already expressed his anger with Spain as Yamal is set to miss out. That means the likes of Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, and Marcus Rashford, among others, will need to step up against Valencia. The creativity of Yamal will be sorely missed.

Valencia had an underwhelming campaign in 2024-25, finishing in 12th place. They will be looking to at least finish in the top 10 this term, and hopefully, push for a European spot. There was a time when the club was a regular in the Europa League and Champions League. Carlos Corberan’s squad impressed before the break, running riot on Getafe and putting their attacking prowess on full display.

The Bats were two goals to the good by the 54th minute, with both Mouctar Diakhaby and Arnaut Danjuma hitting the back of the net. Hugo Duro added insurance in injury time as well. After scoring just twice through their first two matches, Valencia came alive and secured a much-needed three points. But they face a daunting task on Sunday, despite Yamal’s absence. Barca has destroyed them over the years. In fact, Valencia has failed to win in their last 10 meetings with the Spanish giants, losing eight of those games.

FC Barcelona vs Valencia Injury News

As previously mentioned, Yamal is out. Barca is without others as well, including Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Frenkie de Jong, Alejandro Balde, and Gavi. Lewandowski is still recovering from a hamstring issue, so he may come on as a substitute. As for Valencia, they have a clean bill of health, which is certainly a positive for such a difficult encounter.

FC Barcelona vs Valencia Picks

Barcelona is missing some key pieces, but I don’t see them having any issues snatching three points on Sunday. However, I’ll take both teams to score as well, which gives the odds a little bit more value.
