Canada is sitting at +106 odds at NHL betting sites. Team USA comes in at +170, while Sweden’s odds in third sit at +675.

Team Canada (+106)

The Canadians aren’t a surprising favorite to win gold at the 2026 Olympics given their extremely talented roster. They’re stacked from top to bottom, with a plethora of superstars. Connor McDavid and Nathan MacKinnon lead the way, while Sidney Crosby, Macklin Celebrini, Nick Suzuki, Sam Bennett, and Cale Makar are other headliners. Canada showed their brilliance at the 4 Nations Face Off last year, beating Team USA in the Gold Medal Game in Boston. We could definitely see that rematch in the final in Milan. Team Canada is accompanied by Switzerland, France, and Czechia in Group A.

Team USA (+170)

The Americans have always been right there with Canada in international hockey, and in recent years, they’ve been able to give them a serious run for their money. Frankly, Team USA is capable of beating Canada if they did meet in the latter stages of the tournament, but they will need to bring their best. This squad is highlighted by the likes of Matthew Tkachuk, Brady Tkachuk, Auston Matthews, Dylan Larkin, Quinn Hughes, Connor Hellebuyck, and others.

Team Sweden (+675)

The Swedes disappointed in the 4 Nations last year, but this isn’t a team that can be overlooked. Sweden has always been competitive in international men’s hockey, even winning silver in the 2014 Games. Tons of NHL names highlight this roster, and a lot of them are stars in North America. Mika Zibanejad, Elias Pettersson, Lucas Raymond, William Nylander, Gabriel Landeskog, and Filip Forsberg, among others. The Swedes will have Finland, Italy, and Slovakia in their group. Sweden is definitely a medal contender in Milano.

Team Finland (+941)

Finland is also a contender in Milan, but they will be without a key piece in Aleksander Barkov, as the Florida Panthers star is sidelined due to injury. The Fins did win gold at the 2022 Olympics, but of course, NHL players still weren’t allowed to play in the Games. Finland will feature a similar roster to the one they sent out at the 4 Nations in 2025. Eeli Tolvanen, Joel Kiviranta, and Oliver Kapanen are additions who will hopefully add some offensive punch without Barkov. While Finland’s squad is experienced, they don’t have a ton of NHL players.

Men’s Olympics Ice Hockey Futures Picks

I do believe it’ll come down to Canada and the USA for gold, which is exactly what most bettors are expecting. But Canada’s experience, elite top-end talent, and ability to win the biggest games should carry them all the way to the top in Milano.
