Braves vs Mets Odds
| Moneyline | Braves -115 | Mets -112 |
| Total Runs | Ov 8.5 (-103) | Un 8.5 (-125) |
Despite Atlanta being far above the Mets in the standings, there’s no favorite for the series opener at MLB betting sites. The Braves sit at -115 odds, while the Mets come back at -112 on the moneyline.
The O/U is set at 8.5 runs, and we could see a lower-scoring affair with Spencer Strider and Nolan McLean taking the hill.
This is the first time these two teams will meet this season.
Braves vs Mets Analysis
After a poor 2025 season that saw them miss the playoffs, the Braves have bounced back in 2026 and look like a legitimate World Series contender once again. Atlanta owns an MLB-best 45-23 record, and they’re sitting comfortably in first place in the National League East. The Philadelphia Phillies trail them by eight games right now. On both sides of the ball, this is a very strong ball club. The Braves are top-five in nearly every major offensive category, and they’re scoring over five runs per game.
On the hill, they also own the best ERA in the Majors at 3.20. While Chris Sale is the clear ace of this staff, Strider is also having a respectable campaign, and he’ll be tasked with facing the Mets here. The right-hander sports a 4-1 record and 4.00 ERA this year across seven starts. His strikeout stuff is still there with 43 Ks in just 36 innings, but free passes have been an issue, walking 19. Strider has allowed three earned runs in each of his last four appearances.
The Mets have been the laughingstock of the MLB in ‘26, and that’s a real embarrassment for their fanbase. New York remains one of the richest teams in the bigs, and despite signing a ton of talent in free agency, this team cannot find its way out of the NL East gutter. Carlos Mendoza’s group owns a 30-38 record, and the playoffs are likely out of the question.
Offense is definitely the problem for this team. They’re towards the bottom of the Majors in runs, average, SLG, and OBP, among others. Pitching has shown consistency at times, and McLean has definitely held his own. The youngster owns a 3.98 ERA across 13 outings, striking out 82 hitters in 72.1 frames and also compiling a 1.11 WHIP. After a brutal start on May 25 where he surrendered seven runs, McLean has calmed down, giving up a mere two earned runs across his previous two appearances.
Braves vs Mets Picks
Strider has an ERA above four on the road, and McLean has an ERA north of four at home. New York’s bullpen has a 5.08 xERA over the last week, and the Braves’ pen has an xERA of 3.93. We should see runs in the opener. Hammer the Over.
