Although Sasaki has struggled, the Dodgers are a clear -159 moneyline favorite for the finale at MLB betting sites. The M’s, meanwhile, are priced at +124. The total is set at 8.5 runs.
LA had won 12 straight meetings against Seattle before the Mariners beat them in the series opener on Tuesday evening.
Mariners vs Dodgers Analysis
It certainly hasn’t been a banner year for Seattle so far, which sits two games below .500 ahead of Wednesday’s matchup with the Dodgers. But the American League West is wide open, which means the Mariners still have a realistic shot at winning this division. They’re only 2.5 games out of first place as of writing, with the Houston Astros and Texas Rangers just above them. The real reason Seattle remains in contention is its elite pitching staff.
The M’s are sixth in the big leagues in team ERA at 3.71, but their offense has struggled immensely to produce. After a historic 2025 campaign, Cal Raleigh has been non-existent at the dish, hitting .166 with just seven home runs. Julio Rodriguez and JP Crawford aren’t exactly lighting it up, either. The Mariners are 28th in runs scored, and if they’re going to be a playoff contender, the offense needs to wake up in a hurry. Bryce Miller takes the hill in the rubber match, and while he owns a 2.75 ERA, the righty is coming off an outing where he surrendered five earned runs and two homers.
When you have one of the richest rosters in baseball, it’s not exactly difficult to be arguably the best team in the Majors. That’s not trying to take anything away from the Dodgers, but their superstars have certainly delivered the goods in ‘26. LA is comfortably in first in the NL West with a 67-40 record, and Dave Roberts’ group is extremely well-rounded.
The Dodgers are top-two in nearly every offensive category, averaging 5.2 runs per contest and ranking first in team average, hitting .261 as a lineup. On the mound, they have an impressive 3.61 ERA, and that’s despite being without both Tyler Glasnow and Blake Snell for a lot of the season. Others have stepped up in the rotation, most notably Justin Wrobleski. Roberts will be hoping Roki Sasaki can find his form on Thursday, as he’s posted a pedestrian 4.71 ERA so far. However, he’s been a lot better lately, giving up only one earned run over his last two appearances.
Mariners vs Dodgers betting trends to know
- The Over is 5-0 in the Mariners’ last five contests.
- The Over is 5-0 in the Mariners’ last five games as an underdog.
- The Under is 5-1 in the Dodgers’ last six home games.
Mariners vs Dodgers Picks
Miller has had issues on the road this season, posting a 4.77 FIP while allowing 2.01 HR/9. That’s concerning against a Dodgers lineup with a 126 wRC+ over the last week. I’ll take the hosts on the moneyline as a home favorite.
