Giannis Antetokounmpo Over 32.5 Points @ IND (-120) (1U)
On Saturday, the one pick we didn’t hit was the one we made on Giannis Antetkounmpo. He had the same prop number as he does now, 32.5, but he finished with just 28. That’s in large part because he played only 34 minutes, and just three in the fourth quarter with the game way out of hand. However, he also had a very uncharacteristic second quarter where he missed all five of his shots, four of which were in the restricted area. Unlikely to happen again.
If he’d hit just a couple of those and played another minute or so in the fourth, the bet would have been good. Considering all that is swirling around Antetokounmpo and his future in Milwaukee - where he is now a legend - and the notion that this could very well be his last game as a Buck, we doubt he doesn’t play most of the final frame, blowout or no. The Pacers are happy to let him score for the most part, so we’re going to go back to the Giannis well and see if it’s sprung once again.
Paolo Banchero Over 29.5 Points @ BOS (-115) (1U)
The Orlando Magic don’t have enough offense to win this series against the Celtics, but that’s certainly nothing to do with Paolo Banchero. He’s leading all players in the series in points per game, with 32.0, and he has scored 29+ in each of the four games in this series. So when we saw NBA betting sites setting his line at 29.5, we simply had to pounce.
While his free throw shooting has taken a hit, the Celtics are letting him shoot it from deep, and he’s finding the target at a silly 44 percent clip right now, up from 32 in the regular season. He’s getting to his spots in the midrange and paint too, however, sitting second in the postseason in two-pointers per game (9.5) like Giannis. We don’t think Banchero and the Magic will lie down here.
Kawhi Leonard 25+ Points @ DEN (-135)
Since 2017—and discounting 2023 and 2024 when he was in and out of the lineup—Kawhi Leonard has lost 24 games that he’s completed in the playoffs. If the loss did not end the series (which was the case just once, in 2020 against the Nuggets), and Leonard was able to come back against that team a couple of days later, the Cyborg turned into the Terminator.
In those 23 games after a playoff loss, Leonard has averaged 32.3 points per game. He scored 25+ points in 21 of those games, so we’re surprised sportsbooks have his number so low here, not that we’re complaining.
And the only two times he didn’t, was in the NBA Championship-clinching win in Game 6 of the 2019 NBA Finals, and that Game 7 loss to the Nuggets in the bubble. He had a clean performance against those pesky Nuggets in this Game 4 in Round 1 of the 2025 postseason, but he will think he could’ve done more. And of course, he will want to avenge one of the most frustrating losses in NBA history.
