Pro Bowl Point Spread/Moneyline Betting Markets
It’s tough to see how sportsbooks can even come up with a line for this game apart from a pick ‘em, but they are giving the edge to the AFC over the NFC here as slight 1.5-point favorites. This, despite the fact that the NFC has won the competition for the last three years in a row. Or, each of the three years since the Pro Bowl was switched to a flag football event without pads. Prior to that, the AFC had won five straight dating back to 2016.
When you consider a bet here, it’s all about the offensive firepower on hand. The linemen don’t figure into it, and as you will see by the over/under number for this game, there’s not much defense either. The AFC is at a clear disadvantage at QB with two Browns QBs in Shedeur Sanders and Joe Flacco under center for them. De’Von Achane and Ja’Marr Chase should still cause big problems for the AFC though.
However, the NFC has the best flag football weapons in the mix. The RB combo of Jahmyr Gibbs, Christian McCaffrey, and Bijan Robinson is insane. Throw in KaVontae Turpin, Amon-Ra St. Brown, and George Pickens, and we think they have the better buffet of athleticism. This is basically a coin flip anyway, so might as well take the plus money as far as we’re concerned.
Pro Bowl Over/Under Total Betting Markets
Much like in the NBA, the All-Star game in the NFL has fallen on hard times. When players stop caring, it shows up in the defense first and foremost. And that’s why we’re getting a triple digit total for this game. The first flag football Pro Bowl finished 35-33, but the last two games have gone over 120 total points, with the last one nearly hitting 140 points.
These guys are just there to have some fun; there won’t be much effort defensively. They just want to see who can complete the most impressive athletic feat. Which, we admit, could be fun if it wasn’t framed as the NFL all-star game.
