There is still the 2026 NFL Draft set for late April, but apart from that, NFL rosters for 2026 are essentially set after last week’s free agent frenzy. Most players that will move, have moved by now (most, but not all). That means we feel more confident starting to handicap futures betting markets for the 2026 NFL season.

Next on the docket here for us is the market concerned with the best regular season record in the NFL in 2026. With neither team that tied for that distinction last season (Seattle and Denver) in the top three on most NFL sportsbooks, are we set for a new regular season king in 2026? Check out the early betting favorites and odds for who will have the best NFL regular season record next year, as well as our best bet and a fun long shot dart throw!

Highlights

  • Buffalo sits atop this odds table with +950 odds
  • Denver, who tied for the best regular season record last year, sits 13th with +2,000 odds
  • Philly is set for a bounce back year after a regression in 2025

The Favorite: Buffalo Bills (+950)

There aren’t many odds tables atop which the Bills are not sitting here in March 2026. This is just another in a long list. But this is one of the few where they’re offering pretty good odds even as the favorite. WIth a second-place schedule, a division that could have two of the worst teams in the league and a Patriots squad on a Super Bowl loss hangover, and a fresh perspective from a new coach, they’re not a bad bet here. But we like some other ones more.

Our Best Bet: Detroit Lions (+1,100)

The Lions will be playing with a fourth-place schedule after finishing last in the NFC North despite a 9-8 record that would have won a couple of other divisions in the NFL. They still have their talented core, and they’re a full year out from all of those big changes within the staff. They will relax and find their rhythm once again. They would have paid out on this market a couple of years ago when they went 15-2. We don’t see 15 wins again, but 13 or 14 seems very reasonable.

Dark Horse Candidate: Philadelphia Eagles (+1,600)

The Eagles seem to be on an up-and-down trajectory the last few years. Down year in 2021, Super Bowl loss in 2022, down year in 2023, Super Bowl win in 2024, down year in 2025. We’re not saying they’re going to win the Super Bowl again in 2026, or even reach it. But they will have a bounce back year in the regular season. They are simply too talented to go through the drama-induced mediocrity that they did last year.
