New York Jets @ Miami Dolphins Best Bets & Player Props
Neither of these teams really had designs on making the playoffs this year, but they surely didn’t expect to start 0-3 either. But that’s where the Jets and Dolphins find themselves here at the end of September. The Bills beat up on both of these teams, but the Jets have looked a lot more competitive in their two other losses. Nonetheless, this is a little bit too close to call, so we’re looking at the total here.
These two offenses aren’t exactly exciting, but both of these defenses are god awful. Miami and New York have allowed the most and fourth-most points in the league so far, respectively. The Dolphins have given up 30+ to each of their opponents, and the Jets have allowed 29+ to all of theirs. This matchup has also gone over this total in four of the last six meetings. Since the start of 2024, the over is 6-2 in divisional games for the Dolphins, and it’s 5-2 for the Jets over the same span.
Best Bet:
- Alternative Game Total Points Over 43.5 (-130)
Cincinnati Bengals @ Denver Broncos Best Bets & Player Props
The 2-1 Bengals have actually won the last two times they’ve travelled to the thin air of Mile High Stadium in Denver. But they lost the previous 10 straight times going back to 1980. That’s quite a trend. Not to mention that they will be taking on a Bengals team that is somewhat in shambles.
Joe Burrow is done for the year, and Jake Browning has not looked like the reliable backup QB he made us believe he was last year. Browning has thrown a league-high five interceptions despite throwing just 59 passes so far. The Broncos are just 1-2 this season, but there’s no debating they are the better team overall. That Denver defense will give Browning fits.
With that game script in mind—the Broncos leading for most of the night—we can probably expect Denver to run the ball a good amount. And right now, J.K. Dobbins is the guy in Denver. Rookie R.J. Harvey has just 13 carries so far this season compared to Dobbins’ 41.
Harvey had two carries for two yards in a season-low 15 snaps last week, so we like Dobbins to keep dominating. The Bengals have allowed the sixth-most rushing yards to backs so far this season. Dobbins has also gone for 63+ yards in each of these first three games.
Best Bets:
- Denver Broncos Alternative -6.5 Point Spread (-154)
- J.K. Dobbins Over 64.5 Rush Yards (-110)
