Kyren Williams, RB, LAR - Over 65.5 Rush Yards (-110) @ CAR
Kyren Williams had his quietest game of the season last week, carrying the ball a season-low 12 times for a season-low 46 yards. But that had a lot to do with the fact that the Buccaneers just couldn’t stop anything through the air. (More on them later) Williams has otherwise been very consistent this year, topping 50 yards in every game before last week and going for 65+ in eight of those 10.
And now he gets a defense that has really been struggling to stop the run in recent weeks. The Panthers were solid in this area to start the year, but something has come undone and they are currently allowing 148.6 yards per game on the ground, fourth-most over the last five games.
They gave up 84 to Christian McCaffrey and 40 to Brian Robinson Jr. last week. Bijan Robinson went for a hundy piece against them the week before that. Even Alvin Kamara had 83 against them in the game before that, his second-highest total of the season.
The week before that Josh Jacobs went for 87 and the week before that one was when James Cook took this Carolina defense to task for 216 yards. Based on game script and recent performances, we think the betting sites nailed Williams’ number at 65.5 here, so we’re taking the over.
Jacoby Brissett, QB, ARI - Over 266.5 Passing Yards (-110) @ TB
Down in Florida, Jacoby Brissett will get a chance to continue the hot start he’s had as the Cardinals’ QB1. He has only gone 1-5 during his six starts, but he has been moving that ball like nobody’s business. He’s averaging over 314 yards a contest, which is by far the most in the league over the last six weeks.
And now he gets one of the worst pass defenses in football. The Buccaneers are allowing 258.2 passing yards per game over the last five weeks, 5th-most in football. And it really seems like just anyone can throw for 260 against these guys.
Over the last seven games, they’ve given up 273 to Matt Stafford, 317 to Josh Allen, 270 to Drake Maye, and 341 to Sam Darnold. Solid QBs. But they also gave up 264 to the platoon of Tyler Shough and Spencer Rattler and 347 to Mac Jones. We’re not sure where Brissett fits in there talent-wise, but he should have no problem hitting this number based on Tampa’s recent track record.
TreVeyon Henderson, RB, NE - Over 63.5 Rush Yards (-110) vs. NYG (MNF)
TreVeyon Henderson fantasy owners were dancing in the streets after last week’s display. He didn’t have an overly productive day with just 66 yards on the ground. But he still got 18 carries even with Rhamondre Stevenson back in the mix. The rookie did enough during the veteran’s absence to tip the scales in his favor.
Even though he underperformed last week, he still would have hit the number sportsbooks are giving him here in Week 13. He has gone for 60+ in four of his last five games, and his 405 yards over that five-week span are tied for sixth-most in the NFL. And now, he gets a peach of a matchup with the struggling Giants run defense.
Over the last five weeks, Big Blue has allowed a whopping 194.2 rushing yards per game, most in the NFL. Jahmyr Gibbs just gashed them for 200+ last week. But Josh Jacobs and Emmanuel Wilson also combined for 80 in Week 11 (Jacobs went down with an injury at half), D’Andre Swift had 80 in Week 10, CMC had 106 in Week 9, Saquon Barkley and Tank Bigsby both went for 100+ in Week 8, and J.K. Dobbins had 81 in Week 7. Henderson is set for a big MNF performance.
