Steelers vs. Dolphins Game Prediction
Who would have thought back in Week 6, when the Steelers were 4-1 and the Dolphins were 1-5, that there would be any chance that they both had something to play for in this Week 15 matchup. Much less finish the night with the same record. But after four straight wins from the Dolphins and five losses in eight from the Steelers, that’s exactly where we are.
Miami still has an outside chance at a Wild Card spot, and they’re catching a Steelers team teetering atop their division. Pittsburgh just lost T.J. Watt for the matchup, and while he hasn’t been at his game-wrecking best this season, that’s still a big loss. Rodgers still has that broken wrist, though, to be fair it didn’t seem to bother him last week.
Believe it or not, both of these offenses have been pretty good over the last month. In their last four games, Miami has scored 25.3 points per game, 10th best in the NFL. The Steelers are just behind them in 12th, with 24.0 points a contest.
Pittsburgh’s vaunted defense has also been very beatable during that time as well. They’ve allowed their opponent to score 20+ points in seven of their last eight outings. Miami’s defense has been playing well of late, but let’s not forget this is the same unit that gave up 28 points to Baltimore and 31 to the Cleveland Browns just a few weeks ago.
Miami has also struggled defensively when they play in prime time this year, allowing 20+ points in all three late games, giving up an average of 26.7 points per game.
Six of Pittsburgh’s last eight games have hit 40 points or more, and nine of Miami’s 13 games this season have gone over that number as well. We’ll buy a point down on the total here with betting sites putting this line at 41.5.
Prediction: Alternative Game Total Over 40.5 Points (-130)

This one didn’t take too much straining to figure out. This MNF matchup features the worst run defense in the NFL over the past four games (167.5 rush yards allowed per contest) against the best running back in football during that same time (league-leading 130.0 rush yards per game).
If that wasn’t clear enough, we’re talking about red hot Dolphins running back De’Von Achane slicing through this Steelers soft defensive front like hot butter. Achane has gone for 90+ in four straight and 80+ in six of his last eight. Pittsburgh has allowed 90+ yards to the top back on the opponent’s team in four of their last five.

- Devon Achane Over 79.5 Rush Yards (-110)
