Packers vs. Commanders Point Spread/Moneyline Prediction
In one of just four matchups between 1-0 teams in Week 2, Jayden Daniels and the Commanders will attempt to go up to Lambeau and play spoiler. Both of these teams won in Week 1, but the Packers’ performance against the Lions was decidedly more impressive than the Commanders muddling through a comfortable win against the Giants.
However, Daniels has proven to be a road warrior during his young NFL career. Since his 1st career start, Jayden Daniels has only lost on the road to Philly and Baltimore, amassing a 7-3 road record in that time (including playoffs). Lambeau won’t frighten him.
And with Washington employing the oldest roster and Green Bay employing the youngest, we would expect Washington to be better prepared here on a short week early on in the season. Get their spread before sportsbooks pull it below that beautiful number of 3.0.
Prediction: Washington Commanders +3.5 (-115)
Packers vs. Commanders Over/Under Total Prediction
These were both top 10 offenses last year, and they are likely to be again, but 48.0 just seems like too high a number for a Thursday night game. Last year, only six of 16 TNF games went over this total. Meanwhile, both defenses in this game seem like they could be top 10 units as well. They both kept their opponents under 250 yards last week and only allowed one TD between them. This will be a tightly fought battle of two NFC heavyweights, so we’re going with the under here.
Prediction: Game Total Points Under 48.0 (-110)

Last week, the Commanders made it clear who they like at RB: seventh-round pick Jacory Croskey-Merritt. He got the lion’s share of the work out of the backfield, taking 10 of the 20 carries handed out to Washington’s backfield. However, Austin Ekeler (who had six carries) still out-snapped him 33-23, and the veteran also had three receptions for 31 yards. That’s his niche.
And despite a limited tag this week, we think he’ll continue in that role of third-down/passing down back. Ekeler had 3+ receptions in each of the team’s three playoff games last season as well as their Week 1 win on Sunday. We think with Green Bay’s pass rush, Daniels will be dumping it off a lot, much as Jared Goff did last week when he hit Jahmyr Gibbs a whopping 10 times.
On the other side, we like the main reason for that pass rush, Micah Parsons, to get another sack this week. He got one last week after just a few days with the team, and he will be even more fit and well-prepared this week. The Commanders gave up three sacks and four pressures to the Giants last week, and Parsons going up against rookie RT Josh Conerly Jr. feels like a great matchup for the perennial All-Pro.
Best Bets:
- Austin Ekeler O2.5 Receptions (-155)
- Micah Parsons To Record A Sack (-115)
