Arsenal vs Aston Villa Odds

Although minimal points are separating these clubs in the standings, Arsenal is a heavy -205 moneyline favorite at soccer betting sites. Villa returns at +600, while a draw is priced at +340.

The Villains have gotten the better of the Gunners in recent memory, only tasting defeat once in their last six meetings. Villa has three wins during that span, including a 2-1 victory earlier this month against Arsenal.

Arsenal vs Aston Villa Analysis

It’s been a phenomenal campaign for Arsenal so far, compiling a 13-3-2 record in the top flight. The Gunners look like the clear title favorite, but Manchester City is now breathing down their neck — and so is Aston Villa. Mikel Arteta’s side simply cannot afford to take its foot off the gas, or risk surrendering top spot.

Since their loss to Villa on December 6, Arsenal has rattled off five straight wins across all competitions, doing so despite missing several key players at times. This squad boasts tremendous depth, and the next-man-up mentality continues to shine through. Brighton gave Arsenal a scare on Saturday, but an own goal and an early Martin Ødegaard opener were enough to secure all three points. The Gunners remain unbeaten at home this season, going 8-1-0.

Villa has emerged as one of the Premier League’s best stories this season. After a slow start, Unai Emery’s side has surged up the table behind a remarkable run of form. Since a gut-wrenching 2-1 defeat to Liverpool in early November, Villa has been perfect, winning 11 straight matches.
The visitors looked destined for defeat at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, but showed serious resolve to overturn a 1-0 deficit and claim a 2-1 victory. Ollie Watkins played hero, scoring both goals. Few could have predicted Villa would be in the title conversation, but that’s the reality — and it becomes even more so if they can beat Arsenal again on Tuesday.

Arsenal vs. Aston Villa Injury News

Arsenal will be without Jurrien Timber, Riccardo Calafiori, Ben White, and Cristhian Mosquera, forcing Declan Rice to fill in at right-back against Brighton. Villa will be missing Matty Cash and Boubacar Kamara due to one-match bans, while Tyrone Mings and Pau Torres remain sidelined with long-term injuries. Ross Barkley is also unavailable.

Arsenal vs. Aston Villa Picks

This matchup has all the makings of a thriller. Both sides are playing excellent football, which makes a share of the points feel likely. I’m backing a hard-fought draw, with both teams finding the net.
