Arsenal vs Liverpool Analysis
It’s truly been a phenomenal campaign for Mikel Arteta’s men, who have all the makings of a side who can not only win the Premier League, but also Europe’s most prized competition. The Gunners are now six points clear at the top of the table after Man City’s draw with Chelsea, and they’re also a perfect 6-0-0 in the Champions League – the only club in the tournament who has yet to drop a single point.
The North London outfit has conceded a Premier League-low 14 times in 20 games, compiling a stellar 15-3-2 record. They’ve also been clinical in the final third, scoring 40 goals. That’s second in the top flight behind City. Despite dealing with a plethora of injuries this term, Arsenal has remained consistent, and eight different players have bagged a minimum of three goals. Declan Rice was the star of the show on Saturday, leading his side with a brace against the Cherries.
After such a dominant start to 2025-26, Liverpool have fallen off a cliff. While they’ve found consistency at times, that same dominance has simply disappeared under Arne Slot, and the Mo Salah drama hasn’t exactly helped the Merseysiders, either. Plus, Alexander Isak just broke his leg, only months after becoming the most expensive signing in Premier League history. The Reds do sit in fourth place though and although the Premier League title sits far out of sight, they can still lock down a Champions League spot.
Slot’s group is actually unbeaten in their last five outings, and they had notched three straight league wins before settling for back-to-back draws with Leeds and Fulham. Liverpool looked in line for three points on Sunday at Craven Cottage after Cody Gakpo smashed home a late winner at the death, but Fulham managed to equalize just before the full-time whistle. It was a gut-wrenching outcome for the visitors, but it’s a quick turnaround for this huge clash. With just four points separating the Reds in fourth and Sunderland in eighth, what happens here is crucial.
Arsenal vs Liverpool Injury News
The Gunners have a nearly full clean bill of health. Riccardo Calafiori is still battling an injury, while fellow defenceman Cristhian Mosquera is unavailable as well due to an ankle issue. As for the Reds, Salah remains on international duty with Egypt, while Wataru Endo won’t play.
Arsenal vs Liverpool Picks
This should be an entertaining affair, but Arsenal has looked like the better side for most of this season, and they will have revenge on their minds after the August defeat. Plus, the Gunners have yet to lose at home this term, going 9-1-0. Take the hosts on the moneyline.
