Premier League matchday five brings a must-watch clash on Sunday, September 21, as Arsenal welcomes rivals Manchester City to the Emirates Stadium. The kickoff is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. ET. The Gunners are riding high after securing an impressive victory in the Champions League mid-week, but the Sky Blues are in the same boat. They beat 10-man Napoli on matchday one in Kevin De Bruyne’s short return to the Etihad. This should be a thrilling affair between two sides who are looking to give Liverpool a run for their money in the title race. Read below for the Arsenal vs Manchester City picks.

Arsenal vs Manchester City Odds

The hosts head into Sunday as a clear -115 moneyline favorite at soccer betting sites. Man City returns as a +290 underdog. A draw, meanwhile, is set at +270 odds.

Arsenal has played extremely well against City in recent memory. They’re unbeaten in the last five meetings, snatching three victories during that span. Their last clash was in February in North London, with the Gunners running out 5-1 winners.

Arsenal vs Manchester City Analysis

Back-to-back seasons of finishing as a runner-up in the English top flight will certainly have Arsenal motivated to finally lift the Premier League title. They’ve certainly got a promising chance to do so after a productive summer window, highlighted by the signing of Swedish superstar Viktor Gyokeres. Mikel Arteta’s men are sitting in second place at the moment, winning three times and losing once to the reigning champions, Liverpool. Since that defeat, however, the North Londoners have won back-to-back games, bagging five goals and keeping a clean sheet in both matches.

Arsenal opened their Champions League campaign in great fashion on Tuesday, taking down Athletic by two goals. It took some time for them to finally produce the goods, but Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli eventually scored late in the second half. The Gunners have won three in a row on home soil against Man City, but they won’t take the Cityzens lightly, who have showed their quality in recent weeks.

City have already dealt with bumps in the road this term, losing to Tottenham and Brighton in consecutive fixtures. However, they’ve cleaned up their act since, beating Manchester United last weekend before taking down Napoli at the Etihad on Thursday. Erling Haaland and Jeremy Doku scored just nine minutes apart to help their side grab a victory in their first Champions League encounter of 2025-26.

Haaland is off to a torrid start this season, leading the Premier League with five goals. The Norwegian is a key fixture every time he steps on the pitch, and he’s brought his best against Arsenal in the past. Haaland has four goals and two assists in eight appearances across all competitions versus the Gunners. He scored in both games last term against Sunday’s opponents as well. There’s no shortage of motivation for City on Sunday, having failed to win in each of their last five games against Arsenal.

Arsenal vs Manchester City Injury News

Arsenal remain without Bukayo Saka, while Martin Odegaard is also a doubt with a shoulder issue. Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus are sidelined as well. As for City, they’re missing new faces Rayan Cherki, Omar Marmoush, and Rayan Ait-Nouri due to injuries. John Stones may return, though.

Arsenal vs Manchester City Picks

I expect this to be a close match. City are in top form and overdue for a win over Arsenal in North London. At +290, the value is too good to pass up. Take the visitors on the moneyline.
