Aston Villa vs Fulham Odds

Despite Villa’s poor start, they’re still a favorite against Fulham with +125 odds at soccer sportsbooks. The Whites return at +230 on the moneyline. A draw is priced at +220.

The Lions will be feeling hopeful here. They’ve won five in a row against Fulham, outscoring them 4-1 across the last two meetings.

Aston Villa vs Fulham Analysis

After making a Cinderella run in Europe’s most prized competition last term, no one could’ve predicted Villa would be without a win through five weeks of the Premier League season. But, that’s the sad reality at the moment, with Unai Emery’s side owning a 0-3-2 record. They’ve scored just one goal so far, while conceding five times. That first goal came last weekend, settling for a point against newly-promoted Sunderland. Even with the hosts playing with 10 men for most of the match, Villa still couldn’t get the job done, allowing Sunderland to equalize late in the second half.

On a more positive note, Emery’s men opened their Europa League campaign in impressive fashion on Thursday, beating Serie A outfit Bologna by one goal. Scotland international John McGinn scored the lone goal for Villa. It’s a quick turnaround for the Lions here, but they will be hungry to keep the momentum going, and their track record vs Fulham will give the hosts some much-needed confidence. Another draw or loss would put Villa in a serious hole that will be hard to climb out of.

Fulham is in much better shape than Villa as we speak. The Lilywhites sit in eighth spot, grabbing eight points from five matches. They come into this affair in very good form, notching three straight victories. Two of those came in the Premier League against Leeds and Brentford before eliminating Cambridge United in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday. Emile Smith Rowe was the hero, scoring the winner in the 66th minute at Craven Cottage.

As for the win over the Bees, Alex Iwobi and Harry Wilson produced the goods, while Brentford also put one in their own net. Four different players have one goal apiece for Marco Silva’s side, who have netted six times and conceded five. Their last victory against Aston Villa came in October of 2022. Needless to say, it’s a long time coming.

Aston Villa vs Fulham Injury News

Emiliano Martinez missed Thursday’s Europa League clash due to a muscular injury. If he’s unable to feature on Sunday, it will be Marc Bizot in between the sticks for Villa. Amadou Onana remains sidelined, while Youri Tielemans and Ross Barkley appear to be injured still as well. For Fulham, they’re expected to use the same starting XI as matchday five. Antonee Robinson just returned from a knee injury, boosting Emery’s options at wingback.

Aston Villa vs Fulham Picks

Villa is a strong side. While they haven’t shown it yet, we cannot forget what this club accomplished last season. Given their history against Fulham, this feels like the perfect opportunity for the hosts to finally win a game in the Premier League. Hammer the moneyline.
