Bournemouth vs Aston Villa Odds
| Moneyline | Bournemouth +175 | Aston Villa +148 |
| Total Goals | Ov 3 (-127) | Un 3 (+108) |
There’s no clear favorite here at soccer betting sportsbooks. Villa is sitting at +148 odds here, while Bournemouth returns at +175 on the moneyline. A draw sits at +265 odds. The total is set at three goals.
The Lions are unbeaten across the last six meetings with the Cherries, winning the last two. They’ve outscored Bournemouth 5-0 during that span.
Bournemouth vs Aston Villa Analysis
Bournemouth may be sitting in 12th place, but they’ve hit an impressive run of form. Since a 3-2 defeat to Arsenal on January 3, the Cherries are unbeaten across four Premier League matches. They’ve won three of those games, beating Spurs, Liverpool, and most recently, Wolves. While the departure of Antoine Semenyo definitely hurt, Bournemouth is seemingly holding its own.
Junior Kroupi and Alex Scott scored for the Cherries in the victory over Wolverhampton, and they’re now only six points out of the top six. There is still a realistic chance that Bournemouth nabs a spot in Europe next term, but winning games like this is crucial. Andoni Iraola’s men have played extremely well at the Vitality Stadium, compiling a 6-4-2 record, compared to 2-5-5 on the road.
While Villa has proven its worth over the last couple of seasons, no one could’ve predicted they’d be in the title conversation. Unai Emery’s side is only seven points out of first place, but the defeat to Brentford was definitely a bump in the road for them, especially because Man City also dropped points. A victory would’ve allowed the Lions to move into second spot. However, before the loss to the Bees, the Villains notched three straight victories across all competitions.
Emery’s squad has found consistency away from Villa Park, posting a 6-3-3 record. As previously mentioned, they’ve also dominated Bournemouth in recent memory and ran riot on them in the reverse fixture late last year. This match definitely comes at the perfect time, considering their success against the Cherries, but Villa also can’t take their opponents for granted, either.
Bournemouth vs Aston Villa Injury News
The Cherries remain without Marcus Tavernier (hamstring), Tyler Adams and Justin Kluivert (both knee), Ben Doak (thigh), Julio Soler (undisclosed), and Will Dennis (ankle), while David Brooks (ankle) is also unlikely to be ready in time for this fixture. January arrival Rayan impressed off the bench with an assist on his league debut and could push for a first start, although Amine Adli and Alex Jimenez are also options on the flank.
Villa will again be without Youri Tielemans (ankle), Boubacar Kamara, John McGinn, and Alysson (all knee), along with Andres Garcia (thigh), as they continue their recovery spells. Ollie Watkins (hamstring) and Amadou Onana (muscle fatigue) are both considered doubtful and will be evaluated closer to kickoff. Should Watkins fail to recover in time, Tammy Abraham is expected to lead the line once more, with Morgan Rogers slotting in just behind him.
Bournemouth vs Aston Villa Picks
The Cherries have found a serious rhythm, and Villa has looked vulnerable lately. I’ll take Bournemouth to snatch a point in this crucial fixture. A draw offers solid value.
