Brighton vs Newcastle Odds

Brighton is sitting at +160 odds at soccer betting sportsbooks. Newcastle returns at +165 on the moneyline. A draw is priced at +240. The Over/Under in goals is set at 2.5.

The Seagulls are unbeaten in their last five meetings with the Magpies, winning on three occasions.

Brighton vs Newcastle Analysis

It hasn’t been the greatest start to the campaign for Brighton, who own a 2-3-2 record through seven matches. They’ve struggled to string together consistent results, failing to win two games in a row in Premier League play. The Seagulls have bagged 10 goals and conceded 10 as well. On a more positive note, their two victories were extremely notable, beating Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City and also coming back to beat Chelsea on September 27.

Brighton has played better on home soil. They’ve yet to lose in league action at the Amex, compiling a 1-2-0 record. The last time the Seagulls played on home turf, it ended in a 2-2 draw with Tottenham on September 20. There will be serious reason for optimism heading into Saturday’s affair considering Brighton’s recent success against Newcastle.

The Magpies have also been a mixed bag to begin the campaign. While Eddie Howe’s side are competing in the Champions League, they’re currently in 11th spot with a 2-3-2 record. The whole Alexander Isak saga added unwanted drama at the start of the season, but they did a nice job of quickly pivoting, bringing in Bundesliga striker Nick Woltemade. He’s been impressive, netting three goals in four appearances.

The problem is, Newcastle isn’t getting goals from much elsewhere. They’ve only hit the back of the net six times this term, and Woltemade has half of them. Bruno Guimaraes also has two goals to his name. Despite the lack of finishing, the Magpies have looked impressive at the back, conceding just five times through seven matches. They’ve won back-to-back games across all competitions, hammering Union Saint-Gilloise 4-0 in the UCL before keeping another clean sheet against Forest.

Brighton vs Newcastle Injury News

Adam Webster, Solly March, and Jack Hinshelwood are all out for this clash due to injuries. Kaoru Mitoma and Joel Veltman are two who are questionable to feature and will be a game-time decision. As for Newcastle, Yoane Wissa (knee), Tino Livramento (knee) and Lewis Hall won’t be available.

Brighton vs Newcastle Picks

Brighton’s form versus Newcastle is hard to ignore. But, the Magpies are also looking solid at the moment. Their last meeting in May ended level, and I’m expecting another stalemate at the Amex on Saturday.
