Burnley vs Liverpool Odds

By no surprise, the Merseysiders are a massive -300 moneyline favorite at soccer betting sportsbooks. Burnley returns as a +725 underdog. A draw is priced at +450.

However, the Clarets have secured just two draws in their last 18 meetings with Liverpool, also losing on 14 occasions. The Reds have also grabbed six straight victories at Turf Moor.

Burnley vs Liverpool Analysis

It was a brief visit to the Championship for Burnley last season, who immediately earned promotion for 2024-25. The last three times they’ve been relegated, the Clarets have returned the following campaign to the top flight. Through three matches, there’s definitely been some positives for the club. While a matchday one defeat to Tottenham was surely deflating, Scott Parker’s men responded with an impressive performance against Sunderland. A second loss followed at Old Trafford before the international break, but Burnley showed serious guts.

It was a back-and-forth affair, with Manchester United ultimately winning 3-2 thanks to an injury-time penalty from Bruno Fernandes. The Clarets pushed the Red Devils to the absolute brink, making it clear they’re not going to go down without a fight. They will need that same type of fire at home against Liverpool, but, as we know, the Reds are a much stronger side than United, and they haven’t beaten the title-holders since 2021.

The Merseysiders have been as advertised so far in their pursuit of another Premier League triumph. A productive summer window saw them add a plethora of talent after losing several players, and their transfer business was capped off before the break with the signing of Alexander Isak for a record amount from Newcastle. Although he’s still getting up to speed with his fitness, Liverpool’s attack is already looking scary.

Hugo Ekitike is off to a phenomenal start with two goals in three games. Dominik Szoboszlai was the hero on matchday three in a massive fixture with Arsenal, though, banging home a cracker of a hit from long range to help the Reds secure a crucial three points that will likely be key in the title race. Arne Slot’s squad has also beaten Newcastle and Bournemouth. They’ve shown vulnerability at the back at times, but looked much more solid versus the Gunners.

Burnley vs Liverpool Injury News

Parker will be stressed ahead of this encounter. He announced on Friday that up to six players could be unavailable to feature, including Armando Broja, Bashir Humphreys, and Connor Roberts, among others. As for the Reds, Isak will start on the bench but could make his debut as a substitute, while Curtis Jones is the only absence for Slot.

Burnley vs Liverpool Picks

Burnley is a resilient side, but I don’t see Liverpool having any issues beating them, especially with the hosts missing several key players. I’ll take the Reds to snatch three points and keep a clean sheet.
