Chelsea vs Aston Villa Odds

Chelsea heads into this clash a -115 favorite at soccer betting sites. The visitors return as a +300 underdog, which is a rarity these days. A draw is priced at +285 odds.

The Blues have won two of the last four meetings with Villa, but the Lions did run out 2-1 winners in February at Villa Park.

Chelsea vs Aston Villa Analysis

Chelsea have shown serious promise this term, and while the title still remains remotely in reach, they will need to be more consistent if catching Arsenal is going to become a reality. Enzo Maresca’s men have only one victory in their last five Premier League games, settling for three draws during that span. The Blues are in fourth place with an 8-5-4 record, sitting a whole 10 points off the top, and seven points behind Villa, who are comfortably in third.

The Blues came out slow against Newcastle, and they paid for it, as Nick Woltemade bagged an early brace. Thankfully, Reece James and Joao Pedro came to the rescue to help the visitors leave St. James’ Park with a point, but it still wasn’t an ideal result. Chelsea desperately needs victories, and beating a side that is rolling like Villa would make a loud statement.

Villa are the talk of the Premier League at the moment, and no one can seem to stop them. Unai Emery has guided the Lions to an 11-3-3 record, bagging 27 goals while conceding just 18 times. Villa has already beaten Manchester City and Arsenal this term – the only two sides sitting above them in the standings. The Villains are the real deal, and they continue to prove that on a weekly basis.

Morgan Rogers continued his impressive campaign with the opener against United over the weekend before Matheus Cunha equalized before halftime. However, Rogers once again played hero, scoring the winner early in the second period. This Villa side is clearly not scared of anyone and despite heading into London as a clear underdog, they will be incredibly hopeful of making it 11 victories in 11.

Chelsea vs Aston Villa Injury News

Levi Colwill, Romeo Lavia, and Dario Essugo remain sidelined for Chelsea, but Estevao and Liam Delap will return to give Maresca’s attack a boost. Pau Torres and Tyrone Mings are unavailable for the visitors, as is Ross Barkley.

Chelsea vs Aston Villa Picks

I expect this to be a cagey encounter. Two of Villa’s defeats have been on the road, and they’ve also settled for two draws away from Villa Park. Chelsea also has a respectable 4-2-2 record at Stamford Bridge. I’ll take both teams to take away a point here.
