Manchester City will have revenge on their minds come Sunday as they visit Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park. This is their first meeting since the Eagles ousted the Cityzens in the FA Cup final earlier this year. City is coming off an impressive mid-week victory over Real Madrid at the Bernabeu, while Palace also won in the Conference League on Thursday. By no surprise, the visitors are a -115 favorite at soccer betting sites. Palace returns as a +300 underdog, while a draw is priced at +270.
As previously mentioned, these two last met in the FA Cup showpiece, with the Eagles running out 1-0 winners at Wembley. Their last clash at Selhurst Park, however, ended 2-2.
Crystal Palace vs Manchester City Analysis
After taking home a major trophy in May, Palace has followed that up with a fantastic start to the 2025-26 campaign. They’re currently sitting in fourth spot with a 7-5-3 record, one point above fifth-place Chelsea. Oliver Glasner’s men have bagged only 20 goals, but they’ve also conceded just 12 in 15 games, with Marc Guehi anchoring the backline. While the departure of Eberechi Eze to Arsenal surely hurt, the Eagles are doing just enough in the final third to find positive results.
Palace flexed their muscle against Irish outfit Shelbourne on Thursday with a three-goal victory, their third straight win across all competitions. On matchday 15 in England, Guehi’s late winner propelled the Eagles past Fulham. They also beat Burnley a few days prior. Palace have played better on the road, but their 2-4-1 record at Selhurst is still respectable. A victory here could also move them within two points of City.
The Sky Blues may not be the same dominant figure of the past, but they remain in the title race and still sit as one of the strongest sides in Europe. Pep Guardiola’s men have a 10-1-4 Premier League record, and remain right on the heels of Arsenal for top spot. The Gunners’ defeat to Aston Villa last weekend allowed City to take advantage, hammering Sunderland 3-0.
The confidence will be high for City on Sunday after marching into the Spanish capital and also securing a come-from-behind win over struggling Real Madrid. Rodrygo smashed home an early opener, but the Sky Blues proceeded to score twice in a span of eight minutes before the halftime whistle. Guardiola’s backline stayed solid in the second period, keeping a Kylian Mbappe-less attack at bay. City has now won nine of their last 10 matches, with the only defeat during that span coming in the UCL against Bayer Leverkusen.
Crystal Palace vs Manchester City Injury News
Cheick Doucoure (knee), Chadi Riad (knee), Rio Cardines (groin) and Caleb Kporha are unavailable for the hosts, while Ismaila Sarr and Jean-Philippe Mateta have a chance at playing as they rehab minor knocks. As for City, they’re without John Stones (unspecified), Rodri (hamstring) and Mateo Kovacic (ankle).
Crystal Palace vs Manchester City Picks
Palace is a different side this term, and they’re proving to be an issue for every side, no matter where they sit in the table. I expect them to put up a fight, but City is rolling right now, and I see them securing the full points in London. The hosts have scored in five straight meetings with the Sky Blues though, so I’ll take both teams to score as well.
