Liverpool vs Bournemouth Odds

By no surprise, the Merseysiders are a massive favorite for matchday one with -350 odds. That’s an implied win probability of 77.78%. Bournemouth returns as a +800 underdog and has a mere 11.11% chance of coming out victorious.

Liverpool has won 11 of their last 12 meetings with the Cherries, also outscoring their opponents 23-2 in the last six fixtures against them at Anfield.

Liverpool vs Bournemouth Analysis

It was hard to imagine how Liverpool could improve their squad as much as they have after winning the title last term, but the Premier League giants have done just that. Their attack, in particular, has seen major changes. As we know, Diogo Jota sadly passed away in a car accident. When it comes to transfer business, Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz departed, while Bundesliga trio Jeremie Frimpong, Florian Wirtz, and Hugo Ekitike joined the club. Both Ekitike and Frimpong netted in the defeat to Palace.

The Reds finished 10 points clear at the top of the table in 2024-25 and head into this upcoming campaign as a favorite to repeat. Arsenal regularly falls short, while Manchester City isn’t the same side as in the past, with several changes this summer as well. Chelsea could be a dark horse contender to Liverpool’s reign, but only time will tell. Despite the additions, Mo Salah will continue to be the main man up top, leading the top flight last season in goals and assists. The Egyptian is a force in the final third, and it will be interesting to see the chemistry he builds with the new players.

Bournemouth have managed to stay in the Premier League since 2022, and 24-25 was their best season ever in the top flight. Under the guidance of Spanish manager Andoni Iraola, the Cherries secured a ninth-place finish, compiling a 15-11-12 record. Bournemouth was led by Justin Kluivert, who enjoyed a breakout campaign with 12 goals to his name. Antoine Semenyo also netted 11 times, while Brazilian forward Evanilson bagged 10 goals.

Two key players have left Vitality Stadium this summer in Dean Huijsen and Illia Zabarnyi, joining Real Madrid and PSG, respectively. Marcos Senesi will step in and be a regular starter on the backline now that Huijsen is gone, but both are impactful losses nonetheless. However, three players arrived in the transfer window – Dorde Petrovic, Bafodé Diakité, and Adrien Truffert. Diakite wasn’t cheap, costing the Cherries £34.6 million. Bournemouth is in a good position to be competitive again, but it will be hard to best their performance last season. That being said, they were in contention for a European spot for a lot of the campaign, and qualifying for any competition would be a major feather in their cap.

Liverpool vs Bournemouth Betting Picks

Bournemouth couldn’t have been handed a more difficult fixture to begin their Premier League season. The results speak for themselves – Liverpool has dominated the Cherries in recent memory.

The moneyline offers minimal value. Considering how stable the Reds are defensively, especially on home soil, I’ll take them to secure the three points and keep a clean sheet.
