Liverpool vs Manchester City Odds

There’s no clear favorite here at soccer betting sportsbooks. Liverpool sits at +138 odds, while Man City returns at +185. A draw is priced at +270, while the O/U sits at three goals.

The reverse fixture in November was all City, running out 3-0 winners at the Etihad Stadium. However, the Reds did win two meetings in a row before that defeat.

Liverpool vs Manchester City Analysis

It’s been a very inconsistent campaign for the title-holders, who looked poised to repeat early on. However, things took a turn for the worse a couple of months into the 2025-26 season, and Arne Slot’s side has struggled to string together positive results on a weekly basis since then. The Merseysiders sit in sixth spot in the Premier League table, but they’re only two points out of the top four. Clinching a Champions League berth is still very much possible.

Liverpool has found a bit of a rhythm lately. They’ve won two straight games – both at Anfield. First, the Reds smashed Qarabag 6-0 before running riot on the Magpies last Saturday. Hugo Ekitike led the way with a brace, while Florian Wirtz and Ibrahim Konate also hit the back of the net. Liverpool’s attack is thriving at the moment, and they’ll be looking to keep it rolling against a City backline that is definitely shaky at times.

There’s no question the Sky Blues have had numerous chances to gain ground on Arsenal in the title race. But they’ve failed to do so each time, and last Sunday’s draw is definitely considered a setback. City looked dominant in the first half against Spurs, taking a two-goal lead into the break. However, they collapsed in the second period, with Dominic Solanke scoring a brace to help Tottenham rescue a point.

That draw put City six points behind Arsenal in second, and with the Gunners playing relatively consistently, every game matters right now. Winning games like Sunday is absolutely crucial if they’re going to have a realistic shot at lifting the grand prize in May. City’s last game on the road ended poorly, suffering a 2-0 defeat in the Manchester Derby. Needless to say, a different result is needed here.

Liverpool vs Manchester City Injury News

Liverpool could welcome back Joe Gomez this weekend, although the defender remains a doubt with a hip issue. Jeremie Frimpong is still sidelined, while Conor Bradley, Alexander Isak, and Giovanni Leoni are also unavailable. Despite the absences, the Reds remain in strong attacking form, with Florian Wirtz recording nine goal involvements in his last 11 appearances.

Manchester City arrive with a longer injury list. Bernardo Silva is a late fitness call after picking up a knock, while John Stones has returned to training but is not yet match-ready. Josko Gvardiol, Mateo Kovacic, Jeremy Doku, and Savinho are still recovering and expected to miss the trip to Anfield.

Liverpool vs Manchester City Picks

This fixture could be a very entertaining one. Liverpool has found their form, and they’re scoring goals at an impressive rate. City doesn’t have trouble finding the back of the net, either. Instead of picking a winner, I’ll take this match to be a high-scoring affair.
