Spurs come in at +175 odds at soccer betting sportsbooks. Chelsea isn’t far behind, sitting at +145 moneyline odds. A draw is priced at +250.
The Blues will be feeling confident heading into this clash. They’ve won four straight matches against Tottenham. That includes a 4-3 victory on this same ground last December.
Tottenham vs Chelsea Analysis
There were a lot of changes in North London this past summer, with Heung-min Son leaving for the MLS, while a new manager, Thomas Frank, took over. But, despite losing their best attacker, Spurs have managed to impress, even with a plethora of injuries to key players, most notably James Maddison. Tottenham is sitting in third spot in the Premier League table with a 5-2-2 record. They’ve been firing on all cylinders in the final third, scoring 17 times and conceding just seven in nine games.
Richarlison and Mickey van de Ven have been leading the way up top, both bagging three goals apiece. Joao Palinha, Brennan Johnson, and Pape Matar Sarr have also done their part. While getting knocked out of the EFL Cup on Wednesday was disappointing, Spurs are certainly impressing in league action. Everton came into matchday nine in good form and Tottenham ran riot on them, with van de Ven’s brace leading the Lilywhites to victory. Spurs’ record against Chelsea is definitely concerning ,though, and they have a 1-1-2 record on home soil this term.
The Blues have all the ability to make a run at a title this season, but they’ve lacked consistency. Enzo Maresca’s men will go out and beat Liverpool, then, for example, lose to newly-promoted Sunderland. That’s exactly what happened last weekend, with Chelsea conceding a late winner at the death. The Blues are now in ninth spot, but they’re only three points out of fourth place. A victory here, with results going their way elsewhere, could move them up the table in a hurry.
Chelsea had to fight until the very end to progress to the next round of the EFL Cup on Wednesday, needing four goals to eliminate Wolverhampton. Jamie Gittens’ winner proved to be the difference-maker, but the red card was once again an issue, with Liam Delap getting sent off for two yellows. It’s a quick turnaround for the Blues here, but Spurs are in the same boat. Chelsea’s form on the road has been respectable, compiling a 2-1-1 record.
Tottenham vs Chelsea Injury News
Spurs could be without 10 players on Saturday, which is no surprise amid their ongoing injury problems. Maddison continues to rehab a torn ACL, while Cristian Romero, Guglielmo Vicario, and Archie Gray are among the sidelined. As for Chelsea, Cole Palmer and Levi Colwill remain unavailable due to injuries.
Tottenham vs Chelsea Picks
Spurs have definitely been the more consistent side this term, but it’s hard for me to ignore Chelsea’s track record against their London foes. I’ll take the visitors to get back on track with a crucial Premier League victory.
