Ravens vs. Lions Point Spread/Moneyline Prediction
These two teams don’t play each other often, but it’s worth noting that Lamar Jackson is 2-0 in his career against the Lions. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg with the Ravens’ QB in this situation. Jackson has been uncannily good against NFC opponents in his career, putting up a 24-4 overall record against that conference.
And he’s been consistent throughout: in his last 13 such games (stretching back to 2022), Jackson is 12-1 against the NFC, with the lone loss coming last year against the eventual champion Eagles. One of those was a 38-6 beatdown of the Lions in 2023, which was also at home for Lamar.
In those 12 wins, Jackson’s Ravens have not just won, they’ve won by as much as they were expected to, going 9-3 against the spread. Two of those three losses were double-digit spreads as well, which won’t be the case here. The Lions are no slouches against the AFC in their own right, owning a 7-3 ATS mark against that conference since 2023.
However, Jackson’s NFC dominance has been more consistent over a longer period. One loss in 13 is no coincidence. Nevertheless, the Lions deserve their respect. If Baltimore’s moneyline had been even a smidgen under -200 we would have pounced. Instead we’re going to have to buy a few points down on this spread. If you really wanna play it safe you can get Baltimore -2.5 at -188 odds, but for just one point more, your odds drop way down to -138. That’s a big point, we grant, but we’ll risk it.
Best Bet: Baltimore Ravens Alternative -3.5 Point Spread (-138)
Ravens vs. Lions Point Over/Under Prediction
It’s unclear whether either of these teams is very good defensively, but we definitely know that these two teams can move the ball and score. Through two weeks, the Ravens and Lions were the first and third-highest scoring teams in the NFL.
Since the start of 2023, the Ravens and Lions have third and fourth-highest over rates in the NFL, at 60.5 and 60.0 percent flat, respectively. Last season, Baltimore hit the over in 72.2 percent of their games, and the over is 2-0 for them again to start this season. Going back to 2024, the over is also 6-4 for the Lions when they take on an AFC team.
With two potent offenses filled with players that score from anywhere at any time, we’re not going to overthink this. Betting the over is the prudent thing. But still, the 52.5 line we’re getting from sportsbooks feels a bit high, so we’ll buy it down to 49.5
Best Bet: Alternative Game Total Points Over 49.5 (-180)/Sports Interaction
