Seattle Seahawks vs Kansas City Chiefs: NFL Predictions, Odds & Picks | Week 7

Kansas City is 5-0 and has outscored its five opponents by a combined 57 points, while Seattle sits at 3-3 after an overtime loss in Denver last Thursday. The Seahawks are still favoured at home, but Kansas City's defence ranks second in the league in points allowed at 16.6 ppg, and the Chiefs have given up only six sacks all season, both figures well clear of Seattle's own numbers. That gap is the real story for this killer Sunday night game.

Kansas City Chiefs Moneyline: +126

I'm backing Kansas City's moneyline at +126 on Bet365. The market still has Seattle favoured by a field goal at home, but the Chiefs own a clear edge in nearly every underlying number: far fewer sacks allowed, a better scoring margin, and a plus-5 turnover differential against Seattle's minus-1. I think the market is overweighting Seattle's home record of 2-0 and underweighting how Kansas City's defence has been getting it done. My number has the Chiefs winning outright even on the road facing the defending Super Bowl champions. 

Patrick Mahomes Over 220.5 Passing Yards: -115

Mahomes has cleared this number in four of his five games this season, including each of his last three starts. With this game shaping up as competitive, he should see the volume to clear 220.5 passing yards again.

The Seattle side

Sam Darnold has not been great in the last three games and the Seattle offense has not nearly been the dynamic unit it was last season.The Seahawks are  averaging 24.7 ppg, 13th in the league, and allowing 20.3, tied for 5th, but the offensive line has surrendered 16 sacks this season. Last week's overtime loss to Denver dropped Seattle to 3-3 and badly in need of a win after losing three of four games after a 2-0 start. 

The Kansas City side

Patrick Mahomes is in the middle of a strong run: 246, 225 and 272 passing yards over his last three starts. Kansas City is scoring 28 ppg, 5th, and allowing just 16.6, 2nd. Wide receiver Rashee Rice remains out with an injury, but the Chiefs' takeaway numbers and ex-Seattle RB Kenneth Walker III, who leads the league in rushing yards, are the best indications of a KC win. The Chiefs are coming off  last week's win over the Chargers and look to stay hot in the Great Northwest.

Bet365's moneyline odds of -152 Seattle and +126 Kansas City imply a de-vigged win probability of 58% for the Seahawks against 42% for the Chiefs. My own number sits closer to 52%-48%, a real gap built on Kansas City's scoring margin, run game, and takeaway edge. Of all the NFL picks Week 7 offers, the gaps favour the Chiefs. 

I'm calling this one Chiefs 24, Seahawks 20. Kansas City has held four of its five opponents to 27 points or fewer, and Mahomes and Walker III give this offence a ceiling Seattle's defence hasn't faced this year. The 44-point total lands a shade over the 42.5 posted number, with Kansas City closing it out late. My call is the Chiefs moneyline, with the total just over 42.5.
