DraftKings Adds 'My Budget Builder' Feature
DraftKings added a budget builder feature to its site that gives their users the ability to set limits for all of their DraftKings platforms at once. With sports betting becoming an everyday part of the sports world, DraftKings is one of the latest betting sites to add a new responsible gaming tool.
“My budget builder is a new kind of responsible gaming tool - intuitive, proactive, and personalized,” said Lori Kalani, chief responsible gaming officer at DraftKings.
“It reflects our ongoing commitment to creating fun, enjoyable environments for our players. By enhancing how players engage with limit-setting, we are providing another resource that players can use to help them play responsibly.” According to DraftKings, the budget builder feature was added with hopes of strengthening DraftKings’ responsible gaming commitment.
DraftKings’ budget builder is a tool that gives users the ability to set limits for their sportsbook, casino, daily fantasy sports, and Pick6. Pick6 and daily fantasy sports are available everywhere in Canada except Ontario. The budget builder is in the responsible gaming section of the site at the top of the page and has seven categories.

Setting Limits
The limits that can be set will depend on the category. For deposits, bettors must choose to set a deposit limit for a day, week, or month. The maximum deposit limit is $999,999,999.99. For the wager limit, bettors must also choose to set a wager limit for a day, week, or month. The maximum wager limit is the same as the deposit limit. These limits can only be decreased before the selected time period is completed, not increased.
The options aren’t the same for every category. For time spent on the app, users must choose how many hours they would like to spend on DraftKings per day. For amount spend on a single wager, users must choose the product - sportsbook, casino, or all in Ontario - and a limit for single wagers.
Why Set Limits?
Data published by the Responsible Gambling Council revealed that a cohort of Ontario bettors place bets while consuming alcohol or cannabis. Each of the sports betting sites that are regulated by iGaming Ontario have responsible gaming tools and give their bettors information about responsible gaming.
