After stealing Game 1 in Oklahoma City, the San Antonio Spurs are kind of right back where they started after losing two straight to go down 2-1 in the series. The Thunder have retaken home court advantage, and now the Spurs have their backs against the wall in an absolutely must-win game.
If the Spurs lose Game 4 at home, they go down 3-1 in the series as they head back to OKC for Game 5. We can’t imagine the MVP and his band of “others” is going to let them escape that game with their lives. So it’s desperation time for San Antonio at home. Will that mean disaster or triumph? Read on for our betting picks and predictions for the game, as well as the top NBA betting odds in Canada!
Highlights
- The Spurs have been favorites to win the last two games
- OKC has outscored the Spurs off turnovers 47-26 in their two wins in this series
- All three games in this series have gone over 230 total points

Spurs vs. Thunder Game 4 - Point Spread/Moneyline Prediction
We took the Spurs to win Game 3, and for those betting with Ontario sportsbooks that offer early payout when a team goes up 17 points, we nearly got the win in the first few minutes as the Spurs roared out of the gates to a 17-2 lead. But that's when the tide turned, as the Thunder outscored them by 30 the rest of the way.
San Antonio will need to come out with the same urgency in Game 4. But this time, they need to figure out how to sustain it. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has really not played great in this series, but the Thunder bench and supporting cast has really stepped up. San Antonio’s needs to do the same. Wembanyama can’t go for 40 points and 25 rebounds every night like he did in Game 1.
But can he do it again for just one night in Game 4? If he sees that his teammates are not getting the job done, it will be on the Defensive Player of the Year to take over offensively. And he can. He is averaging 29.3 points a game on a 54-43-88 shooting line.
We think the Spurs will be able to use the context and desperation of their current situation to pull out a win and tie this series back up. Whether that will be because the guards finally turn up together or Wembanyama is forced to go super saiyan again, we’re not sure. But we should head to Game 5 at 2-2 in the series.
Best Bet: San Antonio Spurs Moneyline (-130)
Spurs vs. Thunder Game 4 - Over/Under Prediction
We’re not sure who’s setting these game total lines for this series, but we hope they never get fired. In Game 1, the total was set at 219.5. The game had 237 points. But that one did go to double OT. So, in Game 2 they drop it way down to 213.5. The game had 235 points. It went back up to 219.5 for Game 3, and that game had 231 points.
Despite the total going over by double-digits in three straight games, the oddsmakers have not overcorrected yet. And that is working in our favour. This line is set at just 218.5, and with OKC’s last six games all hitting 225+ and San Antonio’s last eight in a row reaching 220+, we see no reason to hop off the over train yet.
Best Bet: Game Total Points Over 218.5 (-110)
