Oilers vs Golden Knights Game 2 Odds

The Golden Knights are a clear -130 home favorite at NHL sportsbooks. The Oilers come back at +110. The total sits at 6.5 for Game 2. The Under has cashed in four of the last six meetings and could offer value again.

Oilers vs Golden Knights Analysis

Edmonton has been the comeback kings in the playoffs so far. They were in a 0-2 hole against the Los Angeles Kings in Round One before winning four straight. In fact, they were behind in all of those games and overcame deficits. That’s been the story of their postseason and it continued on Tuesday evening in Vegas. The Oilers came out flat and conceded two early goals, but once the second period rolled around, it was a whole different story.

Kris Knoblauch’s squad cut the Vegas lead in half before scoring three more in the third. Zach Hyman, Leon Draisaitl, Corey Perry, and Connor Brown all got on the scoresheet, while Connor McDavid tallied two helpers. Edmonton’s blue line shut the door in the final two periods, allowing only seven shots after allowing 10 in the first. Another win on the road would put Edmonton in a fantastic positio heading back to Alberta.

The Golden Knights were the top dog in the Pacific Division in the regular season and had a solid first round, taking down the Minnesota Wild. While they did beat the Oilers in the 2023 playoffs, Vegas knows the challenge they present and that was evident in the series opener, where Bruce Cassidy’s team blew a two-goal lead.

The Golden Knights’ offense was non-existent in the second and third period and they will be hoping to bounce back in Game 2. Winning one in their arena before going to the hostile environment at Rogers Place is absolutely crucial. An 0-2 hole is something no team wants to be facing at this stage in the playoffs. That being said, Vegas is more than capable of responding and being at home will undoubtedly help them. Coming out of the gates with fire and keeping Edmonton’s offense at bay will be key.

Oilers vs Golden Knights Game 2 Picks

Vegas was utterly dominant at home during the season, going 29-9-3. We’re talking about one of the best teams in the NHL who put up 110 points. Yes, the Oilers are solid, but I do expect this series to go seven. The Golden Knights will even things up on Thursday evening.
