Oilers vs Stars Game 2 Odds

The Stars are a -125 home favorite for Game 2 at NHL sportsbooks. The Oilers return at +105 as they aim to tie this series up before heading back home. Three of the last four overall meetings have cashed the Over in goals. With two electric offenses, it could offer value again here.

Oilers vs Stars Analysis

The Oilers certainly went into Game 1 of the West Finals with momentum. They just took down the top-seeded Vegas Golden Knights and also eliminated the Stars at this stage a year ago en route to a Stanley Cup appearance. Edmonton came out of the gates firing on the road, taking a 3-1 lead into the third period. The Oilers seemed to be in complete control of this contest, but everything went downhill.

Dallas scored three times in the first six minutes of the final period before adding two more in the final four minutes. Going to the penalty box was a major issue for Edmonton in Wednesday’s game as the Stars netted three of four with a man advantage. Stuart Skinner also struggled in net after playing very well in the Vegas series. The Oilers have to respond, and hopefully, that happens in Game 2, or else they will be going home in a 0-2 hole.

The Stars are arguably the deepest team in these playoffs, and that’s a large reason many believe they could go all the way this time around. Dallas has lost in the conference finals in back-to-back seasons and you better believe they’re motivated to finally get over the hump and clinch their spot in a Stanley Cup. Having such a stud in net like Jake Oettinger certainly helps their chances.

Pete DeBoer’s group went through a fierce battle with the Winnipeg Jets in Round Two and rolled into Game 1 of this series looking pretty sluggish. As previously mentioned, though, something woke up inside of them in the third. Tyler Seguin led the way in the opener with a pair of goals, while Miro Heiskanen, Mikael Granlund, and Matt Duchene were among the other scorers. What’s even more impressive is that Mikko Rantanen and Wyatt Johnston, two of their top players, were barely involved in Game 1. The Stars were phenomenal on the power play, and if that can continue, they will be difficult to beat.

Oilers vs Stars Game 2 Picks

The Oilers are a resilient group, and they literally threw away a clear-cut victory on Wednesday. Connor McDavid will have his squad bursting with energy and hungry for revenge. I do expect them to come out and play a more consistent 60 minutes of hockey and tie this series up at one game apiece. Take the Edmonton moneyline.
