Stars vs Oilers Game 4 Odds

The Oilers are a -170 home favorite for Game 4 at NHL sportsbooks. The Stars return as a +140 underdog. The total is set at 6.5, with the Over cashing in two of the first three contests of the series.

Stars vs Oilers Analysis

Dallas made a statement in Game 1 with a huge win as they scored five goals in the third period. But since then, it’s been downhill. Star centre Roope Hintz suffered an injury in Game 2 and exited early. The Finnish standout then sat out Game 3 on Sunday and his presence was sorely missed. The Stars were manhandled. Despite outshooting the Oilers 34-24, they allowed six goals, with Jake Oettinger having one of his worst games of the playoffs so far.

Oettinger made just 18 saves on 24 shots and will be looking to bounce back on Tuesday because he has been one of the best netminders in the NHL all season. Jason Robertson scored the Stars’ only goal, while Mikko Rantanen provided an assist. This Dallas core was very quiet offensively and must respond in Game 4 or else they could be looking at elimination.

The Oilers are one of the most experienced teams left in the playoffs and they’ve shown it in the West Finals. Edmonton struggled immensely in the series opener but never once panicked, proceeding to secure back-to-back victories. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins played hero in Game 2 and then he also produced the goods in Game 3, tallying three assists. Connor McDavid meanwhile scored twice, while Zach Hyman also had a pair of goals.

Evander Kane did his part too, collecting three helpers. While Dallas is a deep team, so is Edmonton. They have a lot of talent and this team isn’t short on motivation after falling in Game 7 of the Cup Finals last season to the Florida Panthers. It does appear they could be on their way to a rematch with the Cats if this series does ultimately go their way. But for now, the focus is simple – win another at home. The Oilers are dominant at Rogers Place and the crowd will be buzzing on Tuesday evening.

Stars vs Oilers Game 4 Picks

The Oilers looked fantastic in Game 3 and Dallas could still be without Hintz in Game 4, which is a very big loss. Edmonton has also lost just once in these playoffs on home ice and they truly overmatched the Stars over the weekend. They will grab another victory and put their opponents on the brink of elimination.
