Both Teams To Make a FG of 34+ Yards - Yes (-130)
The Patriots and Seahawks were two of the highest-scoring teams in the NFL during the regular season. They scored a lot of touchdowns, but they also hit a lot of field goals too. Seattle’s kicker, Jason Myers, hit 41 during the regular season, second only to Ka’imi Fairbairn. New England’s Andres Borregales only hit 27, but he’s been called on more often in the postseason. Borregales is tied for the playoff lead with six field goal attempts, of which he’s hit four.
While Myers has yet to hit a field goal from 34+ during the playoffs and Borregales hasn’t done it since the Wild Card round, we expect a few longer field goals in the Super Bowl. This prop has hit in five of the last eight Super Bowls.
Most Punts - New England Patriots (-140)
With two elite defensive units going head-to-head here, we could see more punts than we might like. However, we think Seattle’s offense has a pretty significant advantage over the Patriots, which means they are likely to punt fewer times. Neither team punted very often during the regular season, but that has changed in the playoffs.
Patriots punter Bryce Baringer actually leads the league with 19 punts this postseason. That’s over six per game. He has booted it eight times in each of the last two games. Seattle punter Michael Dickson has punted just eight times in two combined playoff games.
Player to Have Longest Reception - Rashid Shaheed (SEA) (+700)
Our first two “specials” picks were a little safer, but we’re gonna look for the home run ball on this one. Rashid Shaheed is all about the big play. He’s one of the fastest players in the league, and while he doesn’t get the ball very often, when he does, it’s usually an explosive. In the NFC Championship Game, he showed off that big play ability with a 51-yard reception early on. That was his only catch of the day, but it would have paid out this prop nonetheless.
