Thunder vs. Nuggets “Series Result” Futures Betting Markets
Some will say that all the time the Thunder have had off will cost them some rust early in the series. And that may be, but we calculate that will cost them only one game. Once they get their sea legs under them, this one should be over quick.
Nikola Jokic is a nightmare matchup for any team—except the Thunder. We saw last year with Minnesota how multiple seven-footers can slow the Joker, and the Thunder have two great ones in Chet Holmgren and Isaiah Hartenstein. The athleticism and size across the rest of OKC’s roster is just so much better than Denver’s.
Best Bet: Oklahoma City Thunder -2.5 Series Spread (-130)
Thunder vs. Nuggets “Series Correct Score” Futures Betting Market
Usually a sweep or gentleman’s sweep wouldn’t be the two most likely outcomes in a second round series in the NBA playoffs according to odds on betting apps. But that’s the case here. And that just goes to show how well-constructed this Thunder team is. And especially so to take down the Nuggets, as we mentioned earlier.
Betting on a sweep here is very enticing. But we reckon Nikola Jokic is good enough to steal one. And Jamal Murray is always good for one explosion per round, which should lead to a win before this series is over. The matchups across the board all seem in OKC’s favor in this one.
Best Bet: Oklahoma City Thunder to Win Series 4-1 (+180)

It doesn’t look it, but there are a couple of great value picks here. Nikola Jokic was second in the league in steals during the regular season (1.8 per game). His 16 steals also led everyone in the first round, and his 2.3 steals per game are tied for fourth. Alex Caruso could be a problem, but he was conspicuously absent from the odds board. We love Jokic at + odds here.
The three-pointers made category would seem to be wide open based on the odds, but we think it’s a two-horse race. Chet Holmgren was nailing nearly three a game during the Memphis sweep, but Jamal Murray and his many playoff explosions give him the edge for us here. Murray’s 19 threes in the first round ranked fifth in the NBA.
