Most Steals In the Series
The Oklahoma City Thunder are here largely because of two things. They take care of the ball better than any other team, averaging the second-fewest turnovers (11.8, behind the Magic surprisingly) in the postseason. And they don’t let their opponent do the same. They are forcing 18.0 turnovers per game during these playoffs, nearly 2.5 a game more than the second-best outfit.
We say all that to say, the choice here has to be a Thunder player. There are a bunch of guys that get 1-2 steals per game, including Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Jalen Williams, who have the shortest odds on most betting apps. However, we like Alex Caruso in this betting market, especially with the +600 odds value here.
His 28 steals in these playoffs are more than any other player in this series. And he’s done so in very few minutes. Considering he is the resident veteran of this team, and the only one to win a championship before this, we expect him to see more minutes, which will lead to even more gaudy steals numbers.
Most Blocks In the Series
Myles Turner has averaged 2.3 blocks per game, second-most in the playoffs and just ahead of Chet Holmgren at 2.0. This one will be between these two seven-footers, but we give the edge to Turner.
He has already proven to be a more consistent shot-blocker, with his 36 total blocks edging Holmgren’s 32 in the same amount of games (16). But what gives Turner the real edge is OKC’s fondness for scoring in the paint. They are good at it and will have success in the Finals, but sheer volume should give Turner the edge as a rim protector.
Most Threes Made In the Series
We’re going to roll with the favorite here as well. Tyrese Haliburton is really the only star in this series that relies semi-heavily on the long-range bomb. Both SGA and Pascal Siakam like to get inside and use the mid-range game. No OKC players are averaging 2.0+ threes per game in the playoffs, while Haliburton is going for 2.4 per game, having hit 2+ in 12 of the last 15 playoff games. Unless Aaron Nesmith goes nuclear again, Haliburton should be able to get this one comfortably.
