And then there were eight. After a thrilling Champions League Round of 16 over the last two weeks, where we saw boatloads of goals, we now head into the quarterfinals of Europe’s most prized competition after the international break. Several giants remain, and while the odds are tight between four clubs in particular, Arsenal and Bayern Munich sit as the current favorites.

Champions League Futures: Outright Winner

TeamOdds
Arsenal+225
Bayern Munich+333
Barcelona+450
PSG+500
Real Madrid+700
Liverpool+899
Atletico Madrid+1998
Sporting Lisbon+5000

Arsenal are a slim favorite with +225 odds at soccer betting sportsbooks. But Bayern aren’t far behind at +333, while ruthless Barcelona, who tore apart Newcastle, come in at +450. Title-holders PSG cannot be underestimated either, and they own +500 odds.

Arsenal (+225)

The Gunners have looked like arguably the strongest side in Europe this term. They were the only club in the group stages to capture a perfect eight wins from eight, and they comfortably beat Bayer Leverkusen in the Round of 16 after a dominant second leg in North London. While Mikel Arteta’s men lost the Carabao Cup final to Man City over the weekend, the treble is still possible. Potentially winning the Champions League is undoubtedly just as much of a focus for them as the Premier League title. With Barcelona the only dangerous side on their half of the bracket, the Gunners have a clear path to Istanbul.

Bayern Munich (+333)

When we talk about the best teams on the globe, Bayern is right there beside Arsenal. Vincent Kompany’s squad is absolutely clinical in the final third, and they showed their best in the Round of 16, putting 10 past Atalanta across two legs. The Bavarians finished with a 7-0-1 record in group play to finish second behind the Gunners, and they’re set to face record winners Real Madrid in the quarterfinals. While their side of the bracket is much more difficult, Bayern is capable of beating anybody.

Barcelona (+450)

The LaLiga leaders embarrassed Newcastle in the last 16, beating them 8-3 on aggregate. This team is full of young, electrifying talent and proven finishers like Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, and Marcus Rashford. They will have an all-Spanish affair in the last eight as they lock horns with Atletico Madrid. This could be Barca’s year to finally lift the Champions League trophy again.

PSG (+500)

We cannot ignore the reigning champions. After all, Paris is still an elite side, and their squad is essentially the same as last season when they won the whole thing. PSG wasn’t the most convincing in the group stages, needing to play Monaco in the Play-Off after failing to finish in the top eight. They took care of their Ligue 1 counterparts before hammering Chelsea in the Round of 16 – 8-2 on aggregate. Paris gets the chance to eliminate Liverpool from Europe for the second straight season.

Champions League Futures Picks

Liverpool hasn’t been consistent this term, and just days after beating Galatasaray, they lost to Brighton in league action. Real Madrid is in a similar boat, lacking consistency. I do not believe these two sides will contend for the grand prize. I could see it coming down to Arsenal and Bayern in the final in Istanbul, and I’ll take the German giants to win it all.
