The Milwaukee Brewers hit the road on Friday night to face the Arizona Diamondbacks at Chase Field in downtown Phoenix. The first pitch is scheduled for 9:45 p.m. ET. Milwaukee is coming off a surprising loss with Jacob Misiorowski on the hill, and they will be poised to bounce back here. Arizona also lost on Wednesday in its season finale against the San Francisco Giants. Kyle Harrison takes the hill for the visitors here, while the Snakes counter with rookie Jose Cabrera. Read on for the Diamondbacks vs Brewers picks.

Diamondbacks vs Brewers Odds
| Moneyline | Diamondbacks +135 | Brewers -173 |
| Total Runs | Ov 8.5 (-127) | Un 8.5 (+100) |
The first-place Brewers are a clear -173 moneyline favorite for the series opener at MLB betting sites. The Diamondbacks come back as a +135 home underdog, while the O/U is set at 8.5 runs.
Milwaukee dominated Arizona in a three-game set last month, outscoring them 28-9 en route to two victories.
Diamondbacks vs Brewers Analysis
Arizona happens to be in a very difficult National League West division where the Los Angeles Dodgers always rule, but they’re holding their own. The Diamondbacks sit in third place with a 43-43 record, but the ball club is a long shot to make the playoffs at this point, sitting 12.5 games out of the Wild Card race. Arizona is just 4-6 in their last 10 games, and they’re hitting just .226 as a team over the last week.
Cabrera gets the call in the series opener against a very good Brewers lineup, and he’s looked solid since getting promoted to make his MLB debut. Across two outings, the youngster owns 3.60 ERA. He tossed five scoreless in his first outing before allowing four earned runs to the Tampa Bay Rays in his next appearance on June 27. Milwaukee is raking with a 136 wRC+ over their last six games, so Cabrera will have his work cut out for him. This is his toughest test yet.
While they have little playoff success to show for in the last few years, the Brew Crew are having a solid campaign. Milwaukee is 53-32 and in first place in the National League Central. They’re also 7-3 in their last 10 games, and had won three in a row before Cincinnati beat them on Thursday. As previously mentioned, the Brewers are smashing baseballs right now, and they own a 40% hard hit rate as a lineup over the last two weeks.
On the hill, Milwaukee will put its trust in Harrison at Chase Field. The lefty has been arguably their most reliable starter outside of Misiorowski, posting an 8-1 record and 2.57 ERA across 15 starts. Harrison has racked up 96 strikeouts in 77 innings while issuing just 19 free passes. He’ll come up against a Diamondbacks lineup that is below average right now, carrying 86 wRC+ across their last six games.
Diamondbacks vs Brewers Picks
Cabrera has yet to really face an elite lineup, and Milwaukee is swinging a hot bat at the moment. Harrison continues to show well, and Arizona is struggling to create offense. I’ll take the Brewers on the moneyline to win the series opener.
