New York Red Bulls vs CF Montreal Odds

New York heads into this clash as a -189 moneylinf favorite at soccer betting sportsbooks. Montreal returns at +420 odds. A draw is priced at +320.

The Red Bulls are unbeaten across their last five meetings with Montreal, winning back-to-back matches. They emerged victorious last September by a score of 2-0 on the road.

New York Red Bulls vs CF Montreal Analysis

The Red Bulls missed the playoffs last season for the first time in 15 years, just two seasons removed from losing in the MLS Cup final. It was a very disappointing campaign for one of the most dominant sides in Major League Soccer, but the early returns are promising for New York. They’re sitting in first in the East with a 2-0-0 record, beating Orlando City and the New England Revolution. Last weekend’s victory was at home, with Julian Hall bagging the winner early in the first half for the hosts.

Hall, who is just 17 years of age, has already scored three times this season. He’s accounted for all of the Red Bulls’ goals, also netting a brace in the season opener against Orlando City. NY has a special one in the homegrown talent, and he’ll be looking to expose a shaky Montreal backline on Sunday, who have already conceded a whopping eight times across just two fixtures.

Montreal has struggled immensely over the last few seasons, and while it’s incredibly early in the campaign, it’s shaping up to be a similar story in 2026. As previously mentioned, CF Montreal have already allowed far too many goals, and to make matters worse, they haven’t even scored yet. San Diego FC shut them out 5-0 on matchday one before Chicago ran out 3-0 winners on matchday two.

CF Montreal has only made the playoffs once in their last nine seasons, and last term, they finished with only six victories. Beating the Red Bulls has been a difficult task for them in recent memory, last defeating them in April of 2023 – nearly three years ago. Montreal desperately needs a positive result here, but considering the opponent they’re playing, it’s going to be a very difficult task. Aside from their defensive struggles, CF has also compiled a mere eight shots on target. Nothing is going right for this club.

New York Red Bulls vs CF Montreal Picks

I have no doubts the Red Bulls will convincingly secure the three points here. With the moneyline offering minimal value, I’m eyeing the hosts to cover the spread. Expect a two-goal victory for New York, at the very least. They’ve beaten two respectable opponents, and Montreal has looked atrocious.
