New York Giants vs New Orleans Saints Best Odds

Odds courtesy of Bet365, correct at time of writing and subject to change.

New York Giants host the New Orleans Saints at MetLife Stadium off a wild 27-27 tie in Washington in their last game where they were a little lucky with the Commanders clock-management blunder at the end of the game. The Saints are 1-4 and look to stop the bleeding after losing three in a row.

New York Giants vs New Orleans Saints Best Bet

New York Giants Moneyline: -108

I'm backing the New York Giants on the moneyline. New Orleans is the slight favourite despite a three-game losing streak and issues on the defensive side of the ball. The Giants have the better record and have had better QB play and are at home. And they are the underdogs? Yeah, Take the Giants in their house here against a one-win Saints’ team.

New York Giants vs New Orleans Saints Analysis

The resurgent side

The Giants arrive 3-1-1 and unbeaten in regulation since Week 2, with Winston now three starts into replacing Jaxson Dart, who tore multiple knee ligaments against the Rams and underwent season-ending surgery. Winston has thrown for 805 yards and six touchdowns against three interceptions in that stretch, and passed for 326 yards with three TDs and no picks in the tie last week Malik Nabers is managing soreness in his surgically repaired knee but has played through it and caught a TD late last week to force the overtime.New York is averaging 21.8 ppg and allowing 21.2 ppg, a near-even split for a team that has traded wins, a blowout loss and a tie last week.

The struggling side

New Orleans is 1-4 and has lost three in a row, with its defence allowing 30.2 ppg, which is second-to-last in the league.Tyler Shough has had to shoulder the load on offense, as while the Saints rank 11th in passing yards per game they only ranks 29th in rushing yards per game and their top RB is on IR. The Saints did beat the Giants 26-14 the last time these teams met last season and have won the last two matchups but that will change this Sunday.

New York Giants vs New Orleans Saints Prediction

Bet365's moneyline (-114 Saints, -108 Giants) de-vigs to roughly 51% New Orleans and 49% New York, essentially a coin flip. My own number sits closer to 55% Giants, 45% Saints, a real gap rather than noise, because I weigh New Orleans' leaky scoring defence and Winston's improved accuracy more heavily than the market does. The Saints' last of balance on offense and a defence that ranks 31st are the main reasons the Giants are the pick.

My Exact Score Prediction: New York Giants 27–23 New Orleans Saints

Winston keeps pushing the ball downfield against a  leaky Saints defence, and Nabers gets enough volume to keep the Saints secondary honest. New Orleans will move the ball, but they will come up short. The Giants have not faced one team this season that is currently over .500 and they will again Sunday when they get another win.
