Jacksonville Jaguars vs Indianapolis Colts Best Odds

Odds courtesy of Bet365, correct at time of writing and subject to change.

Jacksonville is 4-2 and alone atop the AFC South, while Indianapolis is 2-5 and arrives off a week of selling at the trade deadline rather than buying. The spread has moved from Jacksonville -4.5 at the open to -9.5 now, a shift that tracks the week Indianapolis just had facing a Jags’ team that is the only one in the division with a winning record.

Jacksonville Jaguars vs Indianapolis Colts Best Bet

I'm backing Jacksonville to cover here. The Jaguars rank third in the NFL in points allowed at 17.3 ppg and third in turnover differential at +5, while Indianapolis carries the league's worst turnover differential at -9. Jacksonville has also won the last two meetings between these teams by a combined score of 59-36. Daniel Jones has thrown seven interceptions against just four touchdowns this season, a tough matchup against a Jaguars defence that has forced seven interceptions of its own, tied for fourth in the league.

Jacksonville Jaguars vs Indianapolis Colts Analysis

Trevor Lawrence has thrown for 637 yards and 6 touchdowns over his last two games, lifting Jacksonville's offence to 25.7 ppg, 8th in the league. While coming off a loss they put up 31 points in their last game, are coming off a bye, and rank in the top nine in the NFL in both scoring and opponents’ ppg.

The Indianapolis side

Jonathan Taylor remains Indianapolis's one reliable weapon, averaging 84 rushing yards a game on 4.2 yards per carry, but he now runs behind a line that just lost guard Quenton Nelson in a trade to Seattle. Indianapolis's two wins this season came against Houston and Washington, two of the softer opponents on its schedule, while its three-game skid includes a home loss to a Tennessee team that sits 1-6, sandwiched between defeats to Pittsburgh and Minnesota. Indianapolis also traded away defensive tackle DeForest Buckner to San Francisco in the same week, leaving an already stretched front seven even thinner. Trading away two key players is a sign the 2-5 team is in rebuilding mode rather than win now mode.

Jacksonville Jaguars vs Indianapolis Colts Prediction

Bet365's moneyline odds of -500 for Jacksonville imply a de-vigged win probability of 80% against 20% for Indianapolis. My own number sits a few points higher, around 83%, because Jacksonville is coming off a bye week, facing a Colts team riding a three-game losing streak.Yeah, theJags are the team to back here in their house.

My Exact Score Prediction: Jacksonville Jaguars 27, Indianapolis Colts 13

I'm calling this one 27-13 for Jacksonville. Josh Hines-Allen and the Jaguars' pass rush should find room against an offensive line that is down a starter this week, and I don't expect Daniel Jones to generate enough explosive plays to keep pace. A 14-point win easily clears the spread, and a combined 40 points lands under the 46.5 total. Lawrence and Jacksonville's offence control the clock here rather than needing to pile up points against a shorthanded and struggling Indy team.
