Arsenal vs Chelsea Odds

Arsenal is a big -164 favorite at soccer betting sportsbooks. Chelsea returns as a +459 underdog, while a draw is priced at +309.

The Gunners just beat the Blues across two legs in the Carabao Cup semifinals, but the reverse fixture this term in the Premier League ended 1-1 at Stamford Bridge.

Arsenal vs Chelsea Analysis

It’s been an impressive campaign for Arsenal, who remain at the top of the Premier League standings. However, they’ve been inconsistent in recent weeks, and their lead in first place has shrunk to just five points above Manchester City. We’ve seen the Gunners choke before, and if they don’t get their act together quickly, it could mean a more fierce title battle than everyone initially thought.

Mikel Arteta’s men suffered back-to-back draws to Brentford and Wolves earlier this month, two clubs they should’ve comfortably beaten. That allowed City to gain ground on them. However, the North Londoners did make a statement last Sunday against Spurs, with Eberechi Eze and Viktor Gyokeres each scoring a brace. That victory will give the Gunners some confidence once again, but they cannot take Chelsea for granted, either.

The Blues aren’t exactly the epitome of consistency, but they remain in the fight for a Champions League placing. Liam Rosenoir’s squad is sitting in fifth spot with a 12-9-6 record, just three points behind Manchester United, who are in fourth. Wesley Fofana’s second yellow late in the second half against Burnley proved to be costly last weekend, with the Clarets netting an equalizer at the death.

Chelsea also settled for a draw just a couple of weeks prior against Leeds, blowing a 2-0 lead. Closing out matches has been a clear issue for the Blues, and Sunday’s clash presents an enormous test. The London giants have collected just one victory in their last 10 Premier League meetings with Arsenal, suffering six defeats during that span. With Liverpool right on their heels, a loss here could potentially drop Chelsea into sixth place.

Arsenal vs Chelsea Injury News

There was brief concern when Bukayo Saka went down with an ankle issue against Spurs, but the lack of an alarming update suggests he should be fine for the derby. Kai Havertz is pushing to return after training, while Ben White remains a slight doubt. Martin Odegaard is fully back in the mix following his recent knee concern, though Max Dowman is expected to feature for the Under-21s instead of the senior side.

Chelsea must reshuffle at the back after Wesley Fofana’s suspension, with Tosin Adarabioyo the likely replacement. Marc Cucurella and Estevao Willian are out with thigh problems, and Levi Colwill and Jamie Bynoe-Gittens remain sidelined. There are also lingering doubts over Dario Essugo and Filip Jorgensen, leaving the visitors somewhat stretched heading into the trip.

Arsenal vs Chelsea Picks

The Gunners got back on track against Tottenham, and Chelsea have struggled to find results lately. Arsenal will win on home soil, but I’ll take both teams to score.
