Aston Villa vs Chelsea Odds

There’s no clear favorite here at soccer betting sportsbooks. Chelsea sits at +154 odds, while Villa returns at +175. A draw is set at +254 odds. The O/U is sitting at three goals.

The Villains have won back-to-back meetings with the Blues in the Premier League, beating them both times by 2-1 scorelines.

Aston Villa vs Chelsea Analysis

Villa has been one of the biggest surprises of the Premier League campaign. While the title race is seemingly between Arsenal and Manchester City, the Lions are in a Champions League spot in fourth. However, they’ve had a dip in form lately, and recently fell out of third, where Manchester United now sit. Unai Emery’s men have tasted defeat in two of their last three matches against Wolves and Newcastle, while playing to a 1-1 draw with Leeds United as well.

Friday was a very disappointing showing for the Villains, who lost to one of the worst sides in the top flight. Despite controlling 61% of the ball, Villa failed to produce the goods, and with United winning against Crystal Palace, they jumped ahead of the Lions. Now, Liverpool, who are in fifth, only sit three points behind Villa. A positive result is much-needed on Wednesday, because the fear of falling out of the top four is a serious reality right now for the hosts.

The Blues haven’t been the most consistent side this term, and Sunday’s defeat in North London put a damper on their top-four aspirations. Chelsea is six points behind fourth place Villa, and a victory is absolutely crucial here if they’re going to play Champions League football in 2026-27. Liam Rosenoir’s squad put up a respectable fight against Arsenal, but they fell just short, with an offside goal being disallowed in injury time. It would’ve been the equalizer in what ended up being a 2-1 defeat.

Positive results have been hard to come by for Chelsea in the Premier League lately. Before the loss to the Gunners, the Blues drew against Leeds and Burnley. The red card has been a huge issue, with Wesley Fofana being sent off against the Clarets, who equalized at the death. Pedro Neto was also given two yellows in North London. Chelsea has been shooting itself in the foot, and they must play smarter football. Beating Villa has been hard enough for them, never mind being a man short.

Aston Villa vs Chelsea Injury News

Villa remain without Boubacar Kamara for the rest of the season due to a knee injury, while Youri Tielemans is also expected to miss out again in midfield. Andres Garcia is facing another six weeks out following a recent setback. John McGinn could return after six weeks on the sidelines with a knee issue, but his availability is still uncertain.

Chelsea welcome Wesley Fofana back from suspension, but Pedro Neto is unavailable after his red card against Arsenal. Estevao Willian and Jamie Bynoe-Gittens are both dealing with thigh injuries but could return within two weeks, while Dario Essugo is closing in on a comeback. Marc Cucurella will undergo a late fitness test, and Levi Colwill remains out long-term as he continues his rehabilitation.

Aston Villa vs Chelsea Picks

Villa are due for a win, but their form isn’t exactly anything to write home about. Chelsea will also be motivated after a gut-wrenching defeat against a bitter rival. I expect this to be an entertaining affair, but these two will share the points.
