Rangers vs Tigers Odds
| Moneyline | Rangers -137 | Tigers +106 |
| Total Runs | Ov 7.5 (-122) | Un 7.5 (-105) |
The Rangers are a clear -137 home favorite at MLB betting sites. The Tigers come back at +106. The O/U is set at a relatively low 7.5 runs, which is partially due to the pitching matchup.
This is the fourth meeting of 2026, with Detroit taking two out of three from Texas back in May at Comerica Park.
Rangers vs Tigers Analysis
Texas continues to prove they’re likely to return to the playoffs this fall. The Rangers are in first place in the American League West with a 44-43 record, and they are currently battling it out with the Seattle Mariners for that top spot. While they’re only a game above .500, they’ve certainly improved from last season and have managed to get by despite injuries to key players. Corey Seager has been hurt for a lot of the campaign, and the team just put him back on the IL on Wednesday due to back inflammation.
On a more positive note, Texas is 7-3 in its last 10 contests, winning the last two series. Skip Schumaker’s ball club swept the Toronto Blue Jays before taking two out of three from the Guardians earlier this week. Nathan Eovaldi takes the ball in the opener, and he’s been a workhorse this year, going 8-7 in 16 starts. Eovaldi has compiled a 3.95 ERA, striking out 101 hitters in 100 innings. He’s been absolutely lights out lately, posting a 0.80 FIP over his last two starts. He’s also held opponents to a 25.8% hard hit rate during that span.
It’s safe to say it’s been a disappointing season for the Tigers. Only a year ago, this was a team on the brink of the ALDS, and now, Detroit is sitting at 38-49, and eight games out of first place in the AL Central. They’ve struggled offensively, ranking 20th in runs, 23rd in hits, and 25th in team average. Pitching has actually been a positive though with a 3.76 ERA as a team, and it helps thay Tarik Skubal is healthy again.
The Tigers are also in a rhythm right now, winning three in a row after sweeping the Aaron Judge-less Yankees. They will be hoping Framber Valdez can contain the Rangers here. The lefty owns a 4.05 ERA across 17 appearances, and he owns a 3.70 xERA across his last five appearances. Valdez is coming off a rough start against his former team in the Houston Astros, allowing four earned runs across six innings.
Rangers vs Tigers Picks
The Tigers are swinging it incredibly well, carrying a 42.8% hard hit rate over the last week while scoring 22 runs against the Yankees. While Eovaldi is throwing the baseball well, the Rangers bullpen is a concern, posting a 6.38 ERA across their last 20 innings. I’ll take Detroit as a road underdog.
