Kenneth Walker III, RB, Seattle Seahawks (-195 odds)
During the regular season, Kenneth Walker III was the starter for all 17 games. However, he was not Seattle’s goal line back. Walker scored just five TDs all year, while his backfield mate Zach Charbonnet found pay dirt a whopping 12 times. However, since Charbonnet went down with a torn ACL during Seattle’s big Divisional Round win, Walker has shown a real nose for the end zone.
Walker scored thrice in that game, dominating the second half against the 49ers. He scored again in the NFC Championship Game. The Patriots haven’t given up a rushing TD so far in these playoffs, but as we have mentioned elsewhere, New England has had a pretty ideal run to the Super Bowl as far as opponent offenses go. Walker’s odds are not ideal, but this is definitely the safest ATD bet on the board.
Jaxon Smith-Njigba, WR, Seattle Seahawks (-110)
The next-safest option would have to be Walker’s wideout buddy, Jaxon Smith-Njigba. He paced the league with 1,793 yards and was second with 119 receptions. He also scored 10 touchdowns, which is pretty darn good, though not league-leading like his other numbers. New England has also given up 18 receiving TDs to wide receivers through 20 games this season.
Smith-Njigba has been getting good looks in the red zone during these playoffs as well, scoring in both of Seattle’s postseason matchups. New England will try to take the presumptive Offensive Player of the Year out of the game, but they will quickly learn that’s impossible: JSN has three times more games with 10+ targets (10) than he did with five or less (3).
Hunter Henry, TE, New England Patriots (+230)
There were a couple of other Seahawks that we kicked the tires on (Cooper Kupp and AJ Barner), but we figured it would make better sense to have at least one Patriots player in the parlay. With so many players contributing from the skill positions, it’s hard to predict who will produce what, and when, for the New England offense.
But if there’s anyone that you could call semi-reliable or predictable, it’s top tight end Hunter Henry. He has had two of his least productive games over the last two weeks, but one of those can be blamed on the snow storm. He found the end zone in the Wild Card round and did so seven times during the regular season as well, pacing the Patriots in that category.
