Tigers vs Yankees Odds

The Tigers sit at -109 on the moneyline at MLB betting sites. The Yankees come back at -118. The O/U is set at 7.5 runs, and the Over has cashed in four straight meetings.

Tigers vs Yankees Analysis

It’s been a frustrating season for a Tigers team that had World Series aspirations only a year ago. AJ Hinch’s ball club has struggled to find consistency, sitting 10 games below .500. But not all is lost yet. The American League Central remains completely wide open, and Detroit is only 7.5 games out of first place. It’s not even the All-Star break, which means the Tigers have tons of time to fight their way into a playoff spot, even if it means as a Wild Card team.

Detroit is finding its best lately, winning four straight after Monday’s victory over the Yankees. That comes after sweeping the Chicago White Sox over the weekend, a divisional rival. The Tigers will be feeling confident in this matchup with Mize on the bump. The right-hander has a 3.45 FIP over the last month. However, he did miss some time due to injury, and he’s only made two starts in June. He has been elite at home, though, sporting a 1.27 ERA across 28.1 innings of work.

The Yankees are living up to expectations in a heavily competitive American League East. They’re two games clear of the Tampa Bay Rays in first place, who appear to be New York’s biggest threat at the divisional title at this point. New York has been managing to stay afloat without superstar Aaron Judge, who is currently on the IL. Creating offense has been difficult at times, though.

The Bronx Bombers head into this contest in poor shape. They dropped two of three to the Cincinnati Reds over the weekend, then lost 5-3 in the series opener. Aaron Boone will be putting his trust in Rodon here, who is holding his own lately. He owns a 3.13 ERA across his previous four starts. However, he has allowed a 47.5% hard-hit rate over that span, which is concerning. Rodon also has a 4.51 FIP on the road in 2026.

Tigers vs Yankees Picks

Mize is absolutely lights out at Comerica Park, and Rodon’s hard-hit rate tells me a poor outing could be on the way. Detroit is playing good baseball at the moment, and the Yankees aren’t. I’ll take the hosts to grab another victory behind a quality start from Mize.
