For some, live betting is one of the most important features that a sportsbook can have. With live betting, bettors don’t have to worry about placing a bet before the game starts. With live betting, bettors can wait to see how some of the game plays out before putting money down. With live betting, bettors can wait until the odds change if they don’t like the odds before a game starts. But live betting isn’t perfect. Genius Sports is looking to make live betting even better for soccer bettors and the betting sites.

Genius Sports announces launch of BetVision for soccer

Genius Sports announced the launch of an interactive in-game wagering product for soccer last week. Genius Sports launched BetVision for soccer, a feature that will let bettors place bets on games that are live streamed by touching an individual player within the live video. “BetVision for soccer defines a new era of interactive sports betting and fan engagement,” said Mark Locke, CEO of Genius Sports. “This isn’t just a product, it’s a revolution in how fans watch, interact with, and enjoy the most popular sport in the world. By uniting immersive live streaming, real-time data, and seamless in-game betting into one platform, we’re delivering a next-level experience for our customers.” BetVision for soccer gives soccer bettors a chance to try a unique style of live betting that isn’t available for every sport.

With BetVision for soccer, sportsbooks can offer their bettors BetVision for French Ligue 1, Brasiliero Serie A, Dutch Eredivisie, Turkish Super Lig, UEFA Champions League qualifiers and more, according to Genius Sports. BetVision uses artificial intelligence to provide data-driven insights and storytelling features within the live broadcast that highlight player names and personalised bet tracking innovations. The touch-to-bet feature lets bettors find betting markets for players on the field by clicking on the player. BetVision was launched for the NFL in 2023. DraftKings and Fanduel are sports betting sites that have used BetVision. For this launch, Genius Sports partnered with Infront for video content.

Giving a different soccer betting experience

Head of Infront bettor Chris Catling commented on the partnership. “BetVision aligns perfectly with our wider product strategy, which focuses on fan engagement and making betting streams more immersive,” Chris Catling said. “Since launch, we’ve introduced innovations like real-time streaming and instant highlights – and this takes things a step further. It’s great to see our rights portfolio brought to life through such an interactive and bettor-friendly experience.” According to Genius Sports, sportsbooks can access over 120 soccer competitions through the product.

Bettors can bet on live soccer games with most sportsbooks right now. But bettors won’t find BetVision for soccer on all of them. On betting sites without BetVision, bettors may be given betting options under the live stream, depending on the sportsbook. Bettors can scroll down to see the betting options in that scenario. Bettors who don’t use the live streaming feature on a sportsbook may use one of the sports betting apps to place bets while watching the game on a TV or laptop.
