The Detroit Tigers will be looking for the sweep on Sunday afternoon at Comerica Park as they face the Chicago White Sox in the series finale of a three-game set. The first pitch is scheduled for 1:40 p.m. ET. Detroit won the second game of this matchup on Saturday by a score of 4-1, and they will be up against Davis Martin here. Tigers vs White Sox Odds

There’s no clear favorite at MLB betting sites. The Tigers have -118 moneyline odds, while the White Sox sit at -109. The O/U is set at 8.5 runs, and it’s been a low-scoring series so far, with the Under cashing in both games.

Despite dropping the first two of this series, Chicago has won four of the last six meetings with Detroit.

Tigers vs White Sox Analysis

It was only last year when the Tigers had World Series aspirations and were one of the best teams in the big leagues. In 2026, it’s been a much different story, with AJ Hinch’s ball club sitting in fourth place in the AL Central with a disappointing 32-44 record. The rumors also continue to swirl around Tarik Skubal, who Detroit may choose to move at the trade deadline. At this point, the playoffs look like a long shot for this young Tigers team, which has been very underwhelming.

Pitching is definitely not the issue for this organization. They’re seventh in team ERA, but offensively, Detroit cannot find consistency. The team is towards the bottom of the Majors in numerous offensive categories, and they’re batting just .233 as a lineup. With most of their starting pitchers on short rest, an opener is likely here. The Tigers’ bullpen owns a respectable 3.92 xERA over the last week, though, which is a reason for optimism.

While the White Sox have been in the gutter of this division for years, they’ve impressed this season. Chicago actually has a realistic shot at making the postseason as a Wild Card, but it’s still, of course, early in the season. The White Sox offense is one of the best in the bigs, and that’s been propelled by their ability to hit the homer. Chicago ranks second in the MLB in long balls, with Colson Montgomery and Munetaka Murakami both slugging 20 bombs apiece.

Martin takes the ball in the rubber match, and he’s been one of the White Sox's best arms this season. He owns a 9-3 record and 3.31 ERA across 14 starts, but the righty has struggled as of late. Martin was tagged for nine earned runs last time out, and he has compiled a 4.03 FIP over the last month. He’s also allowed a 46.4% hard hit rate during that span.

Tigers vs White Sox Picks

I expect Martin to find his footing again, and it’s not like either team is absolutely flourishing offensively at the moment. Detroit’s pen is holding its own, and the Tigers are only hitting .221 over their last six games. Both sides will pitch well. Another low-scoring game is in the cards.
