FC Barcelona will be looking to take back first place in LaLiga on Monday, February 16 as they hit the road to lock horns with Girona. The kick-off is scheduled for 3 p.m. ET at the Estadi Montilivi. The Catalans just suffered a horrendous 4-0 defeat in the first leg of the Copa del Rey semifinals on Thursday to Atletico Madrid, and they’ll be motivated to respond here. Girona, meanwhile, played to a 1-1 draw with Sevilla last weekend. Read on for the Girona vs FC Barcelona picks.

Girona vs FC Barcelona Odds

Barca is a heavy -271 moneyline favorite at soccer betting sportsbooks. Girona returns at +620 odds, giving them just a 13.89% chance of pulling off the upset. The total is set at 3.5 goals.

In 12 meetings overall, Barca has won eight times and lost just twice. The other two fixtures ended level.

Girona vs FC Barcelona Analysis

Girona is having a respectable campaign in 2025-26, sitting in 14th spot in the LaLiga table with a 6-8-9 record. They’re level on 26 points with Alaves and Sevilla, but those two clubs have already played this weekend. Even a point here could move them into 12th, and a victory could put Girona in 11th with Getafe.

Heading into Monday’s encounter, Michel’s men are 2-2-1 in their last five matches, beating Osasuna and Espanyol during that span. Thomas Lemar scored an early opener in the second minute last weekend against Sevilla, but Kike Salas equalized late for the hosts to help them rescue a point. Facing Barcelona will be an incredibly difficult clash, but they will have some hope considering just how poor the visitors played mid-week against Atleti.

Overall, it’s been a good season for the reigning LaLiga champions. But the title race remains fierce, especially with Real Madrid turning a corner lately. Los Blancos’ win over Sociedad over the weekend moved them two points clear of Barcelona, but the Catalans can recapture top spot in the table with a victory at Girona.

The heavy defeat to Atletico was very out of character for Barca, but they had won six straight games across all competitions before that. Last weekend in league play, Hansi Flick’s squad ran riot on Mallorca on home soil, securing a 3-0 victory. They’ve only conceded once across their previous three LaLiga matches, and Barca have outscored Girona 6-2 over the last two meetings. Flick’s side has an 8-1-3 record on the road this term.

Girona vs FC Barcelona Injury News

Girona is dealing with multiple long-term absences. Cristián Portu is sidelined with torn knee ligaments, while Donny van de Beek is out after suffering an Achilles tendon rupture, removing an important midfield option for an extended period. Álex Moreno is also unavailable due to a muscle injury.
Barcelona is managing a pair of injury concerns as well. Defender Andreas Christensen remains out with a ligament tear, limiting defensive rotation, while midfielder Pablo Gavi has undergone arthroscopy, keeping the energetic playmaker sidelined as he continues his recovery process.

Girona vs FC Barcelona Picks

I have no question Barcelona will secure the full three points here, but they’ve conceded in three straight meetings with Girona, and just allowed four goals to Atletico. Take both teams to find the back of the net.
