Two of the best teams in the Majors begin a four-game set on Thursday, July 24 as the Toronto Blue Jays visit the Detroit Tigers at Comerica Park. The first pitch is scheduled for 6:40 PM ET. Toronto just took two out of three from the New York Yankees, strengthening their lead at the top of the American League East in the process. As for the Tigers, they were surprisingly swept by the Pittsburgh Pirates and will be hungry to bounce back here. Read below for the Blue Jays vs Tigers betting picks.

Blue Jays vs Tigers Analysis
The Blue Jays are easily the hottest team in baseball right now and continue to make it known that they’re ready to compete. Toronto just saw an 11-game winning streak at home end on Tuesday, but they got right back on track on Wednesday, beating the Yankees 8-4. While New York’s defense completely unraveled, the Jays still banged out 10 hits and scored all eight runs between the fourth and seventh innings. Vladimir Guerrero Jr and George Springer led the way offensively, both collecting two hits apiece.
Now, Toronto hits the road and they will hand Eric Lauer the baseball here. He’s pitched out of the bullpen and in the rotation this season but regardless of the role, Lauer has impressed. He’s 5-2 in 15 appearances with a 2.80 ERA, striking out 65 hitters in 61 innings of work while walking just 16. He’s allowed just two earned runs in each of his last three starts. Lauer faced Detroit in May, allowing one earned run across three relief innings.
The Tigers are shaping up to be a legitimate contender as well but they’re struggling at the moment. First, Detroit lost two out of three to the Texas Rangers before the lowly Bucs just pulled out the brooms against them. AJ Hinch’s squad lost 6-1 in the rubber match, with Bailey Falter dominating the Tigers offense. Nevertheless, they still have a 60-43 record and eight-game lead at the top of the American League Central. Thursday marks the beginning of a seven-game homestand.
The young Reese Olson will start the series opener against Toronto. The 25-year-old has compiled a 4-3 record in 12 starts to go along with a 2.71 ERA. He’s only allowed three home runs, too. Olson has a 1.88 ERA in July so far and did toss six scoreless innings versus the Blue Jays in May. He’s been one of Detroit’s most consistent arms alongside Tarik Skubal and Casey Mize. We’ll see if he can slow down Toronto’s hot bats and potentially get some run support, too.
Blue Jays vs Tigers Picks
We have two pitchers who are in top form at the moment. With that in mind, I am seeing serious value in the Under here. Yes, the Tigers are due to break out and Toronto is thriving offensively, but I could see a pitcher’s duel in this one.
