Two of the top teams in the National League begin a three-game set on Monday, July 7, as the Los Angeles Dodgers visit the Milwaukee Brewers. The first pitch is scheduled for 7:40 PM ET at American Family Field. LA just suffered a humbling sweep at the hands of the Houston Astros and will be looking to get back on track here. As for the Brew Crew, they just took two out of three from the lowly Miami Marlins and continue to close in on the first-place Chicago Cubs. Read below for the Dodgers vs Brewers betting picks.

Dodgers vs Brewers Odds

Despite their poor weekend, the Dodgers are a clear favorite here with -140 moneyline odds. The Brewers return as a +115 underdog at MLB betting sites.

These two ball clubs met seven times last season, with the Dodgers winning four games, while the Brew Crew came out victorious three times.

Dodgers vs Brewers Analysis

The Dodgers have more or less looked like a World Series contender once again in 2025, but their weekend set with the Astros couldn’t have gone worse. Dave Roberts’ group was outscored 29-6 across three games, even losing the series opener 18-1. On both sides of the ball, Los Angeles was a nightmare. On a more positive note, the defending champs still sit 7.5 games clear of the second place San Diego Padres in the National League West with a 56-35 record. That’s despite having numerous injuries to their pitching staff this season. They’ve managed to still thrive.

The Dodgers will be feeling confident on Monday as they sent Yoshinobu Yamamoto to the hill, who has undoubtedly been their ace. The right-hander is 8-6 this season with a 2.51 ERA, striking out 109 hitters in 96.2 innings of work while walking just 32. He’s held hitters to a .191 average. Last time out, Yamamoto dominated, tossing seven innings of one-run baseball against the Chicago White Sox, striking out eight in the process. In fact, he’s only allowed one earned run across his last two outings. Yamamoto has never faced Milwaukee before.

The Brewers have also dealt with their fair share of health issues on the mound this year, but they’ve remained competitive. Milwaukee has a 50-40 record and sits 3.5 games back of the red-hot Cubs, who have looked unstoppable. The Brew Crew are a fundamentally sound ball club on both sides of the ball, ranking eighth in runs scored and 12th in team ERA. Milwaukee is in the thick of the Wild Card race at the moment with the All-Star break around the corner.

Milwaukee has their ace on the bump against the Dodgers on Monday in Freddy Peralta. He’s dealing in ‘25, going 9-4 with a 2.91 ERA in 18 starts, striking out 104 in 99 innings of work. He’s also issued just 35 free passes. Peralta has been lights out at home, compiling a 1.76 ERA across eight appearances this season. The Dodgers lineup is quite familiar with Peralta but they haven’t had much success against him, hitting .229 across 96 at-bats.

Dodgers vs Brewers Picks

This contest has all the makings of a pitching duel. For that reason alone, I’m eyeing the Under in runs with confidence. Both Yamamoto and Peralta should bring their best and keep this one low-scoring. I expect the two starters to pitch deep into this game.
