Dallas Cowboys vs Arizona Cardinals Best Odds

Odds courtesy of Bet365, correct at time of writing and subject to change.

This week's NFL prediction odds make Dallas a heavy home favourite against a Cardinals’ defence that has allowed the most points in the league. The Cowboys sit at 3-4, while Arizona is 2-5 and has lost four of its last five. Dallas's offence ranks 10th in total yards and 5th in scoring; Arizona's defence ranks last in the league in points allowed and that gap is the whole story here.

Dallas Cowboys vs Arizona Cardinals Best Bet

Dallas Cowboys -6.5: -116

My call here is Dallas -6.5. The Cowboys rank 5th in the league in scoring at 27.0 ppg, and they're facing a Cardinals defence that has not been shredded this season. Arizona's own offence ranks 26th in scoring at 20.3 ppg, the much weaker side of this matchup. Dallas's own defence has had its issues too, but an offence this productive should still cover the spread under a touchdown against a defence that has struggled, big time, all season.

Dallas Cowboys vs Arizona Cardinals Analysis

The Dallas side

Dak Prescott will lead American’s Team again after a 38-21 win over the Eagles that pushed Dallas to 3-4, the second time in three weeks the Cowboys have topped 30 points. Dallas ranks 10th in the league in total offence at 353.6 yards a game. The issue is the other side of the ball: Dallas is 29th in yards allowed at 373.7 yards given up per game and 23rd in points allowed at 25.7 ppg. Still, they have the offence and Arizona has a tall task keeping up with their massive issues on D.

The Arizona side

Jacoby Brissett remains the Cardinals' starter under center, with rookie Carson Beck, working through a back injury, behind him on the depth chart. Arizona ranks 22nd in total offensive yards at 313.9 a game, and the defence is allowing 29.7 ppg after a 16-30 loss to Denver giving up 30 points to a team that had issues scoring this season. The Cardinals two wins this season have come facing a winless Chargers team and a Rams team that is under .500.

Dallas Cowboys vs Arizona Cardinals Prediction

Dallas is priced as a clear favourite here, and I don't see the market getting this one wrong. My own number lands close to the de-vigged figure below, so I'm treating this as an efficient line rather than a mispriced one. The gap between these two sides, not a hunch about where the number should sit, is why I like Dallas to win and cover and not hard to see why with an Arizona defense that ranks dead last in the NFL in points allowed.

My Exact Score Prediction: Dallas Cowboys 31–20 Arizona Cardinals

I'm backing a 31-20 final. Arizona's defence ranks a more modest 24th in total yards allowed despite sitting 32nd in scoring, a gap that points to red-zone trouble more than a complete collapse. Arizona's own games have finished under 54.5 combined points in four of its seven games this season. Dallas will cover in the Big D with the total going Under in what will not be a shootout.
